question about rent a car in Canada and drop off in the US

Hi,

We plan to go to Toronto for our PR cards application two weeks later. We plan to land in Toronto by air, and then get back by road using AVR.

My question is: if we rent a car in Toronto and drop off in Buffalo NY, will there be any problem when we pass the check point on road?

I mean if the officer notice that it's a Canadian vehicle, will that raise any concern of importing cars to the US or similar stuff like that?
