So, filling out form to apply for extended stay. In section D-11 (where you're getting the money to support yourself) the options are:

self
relative
friend
welfare
other

now, this is going to sound silly, but I know the tiniest error can make them reject your application and I want to do it right. if it's my boyfriend supporting me, I would select other, right? on the CIC website it says to select other if your income comes from an employer though. but he's not a friend nor relative. what the heck?

also, I'm surprised when applying by mail you're not asked for a copy of your passport? when you do it online you have to scan your passport - how come they don't need a photocopy of it if you do it through the mail? Odd? Should I attach a copy anyway just in case?  Undecided

1 . How about selecting "Friend" he is after all your Friend. You can't select "other" as it specify alraedy. I would select Freind.
2. I don't know 2nd question.

No. You attach photocopies of passport pages showing passport number, dates of issue and expiry, name and date of birth of passport holder and the "marked pages".

THANK YOU. I had found and even printed out that checklist before and I was having a hard time finding it again. Sorry for the confusion. I will delete this thread.

actually, I'm still not sure about the friend/other thing. Would my boyfriend count as a friend? Does anybody else want to share their thoughts?

If you have support from an employer, and your boyfriend.
Why not mark two options - Friend and Other.

Have a notarized statement of undertaking from your boyfriend to attach with your application.
