question about getting visa from Buffalo VO

I have applied for a visa to Canada to Buffalo visa office on 19 April,(I am already in canada),I have bought a flight ticket to my country for 10 June,but my Visa is not issued yet.Does anybody have any information to how to accelerate the process or get any information about the status of my process?

I submitted my application in person on April 28th at Canada Consulate-Detroit and I'm still waiting. As far as  I know, there is no way to expedite the process. In my case they even didn't say anything about my application status. Did you mail your application to the visa office?

I sent my application to Buffalo by post canada, but no news after 7 weeks! I don't know what is wrong there! nad no way to speed up the process.

My guess (as I explored different cases in the forum) is that those who are subject to mandatory waiting period and submitted their application in April are in the same position as we are. (One reason that I'm saying "April" is that a friend of mine submitted his application 12 days after me (May 10) and got his visa only after 17 days!)
