i was just wondering if any of you could help me
define what "short absences" would be like.. are we
talking about weeks or a month here? hope someone can
help me.

alright thanks. do we have to be IN a common-law relationship where we've signed it and what not are in a conjugal relationship before we can qualify?

Your question isn't clear. Can you please explain in more detail? What do you mean by "where we've signed it".

that just made me sound dumb.
my question is do we have to live in a 12 month
continuous relationship without having gone under the
common-law? as in just a conjugal relatioship?

Living together for 12 consecutive months IS what defines a common-law relationship, not signing something. Is that what you're asking?
