Guys im this has been asked before but....
When do you plan to return to Canada to resume residency?
- I don't really know yet. When I put a date in do they take that into account?

Where do you plan to live when you return to Canada?
- With family until we get jobs. Is that a good enough answer?

Give details of your plans to re-establish in Canada?
- Get jobs and buy a house. Will this suffice as well?

Write that you plan to resume residency when the spouse gets PR

Write that you will live with family until you get jobs.

Get your family to write a statement saying that they know of your plans to move to Canada and that you can live with them until you find jobs/housing.

When they ask where you plan to live when you return to Canada, I think they mean, what city... not if it's with  relatives/friends.

When you are sponsoring from outside of Canada and have to prove your intentions to move back, it's better if you can provide a place to live as well so unless they have a house or apartment lined up, they should say who they are planning to live with and provide a letter from that person.

When the spouse gets PR, they are not bound by this at all and maybe they were never planning to go live with that relative but it helps to have the letter to prove intentions to go back.  Stating the name of a town doesn't prove anything.  A letter from a relative proves that they have discussed with that relative if they can stay there for a while when they move back.

anyone out there living in the UK doing the same application?
any idea how long your process has taken or is taking?

We applied from the UK last August.  Our case seems to be taking a longer than the listed processing times (7 months so far since we submitted, 5 months since London started processing it).  They haven't contacted us to request an interview or for more information, and e-cas said they had my medical results in December, so not sure why it's taking so long.  I'm originally from Australia, so all I can think of is they're waiting on something from Australia.  But who knows.  We've ordered our CAIPS notes to try and get an idea of what's happening.

The good news for you though, is London appears to be one of the quicker visa offices at the moment.  Take a look at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp for the processing times during 2008.  The 2007 processing times were slower, so they seem to be improving considerably.
