Hello Everyone,

I and my fiancé are planning to get a court marriage done in January 2012 in order for him to apply for my visa in Canada.

I have few queries in my mind and would like to hear the expert's advice:

1. What kind of documents is required for him to apply for my visa in Canada after the court marriage?
2. We are first cousins, so would the Canadian VO require a medical or a DNA certificate?
3. We would be getting married in Karachi – Pakistan. Did anyone get married in Pakistan.... Please shed some light and guide me through and advice if it would be considered valid under the Canadian Law?
4. My PR visa is still in process for the last 1 and ½ year now, could this be a problem?

Please highlight any other information that you think would be important for us.

Thank You

I am sure that you do not mean this, as it could be seen as a marriage of convenience - certainly not good for Canadian immigration.

Baloo is right, you cannot get married just so he can sponsor you. This is part of the reason the processing times are so long for Pakistan.
Also, you say you already have a PR visa that's been processing for 18 months now, so why do you need to be sponsored?

If you have a PR visa application thatz in process for a while now, why would you need to apply for spousal visa ? They have a record of you already, this would show that you are really desperate to get into Canada and now using your cousin to make it happen.
