Hello,
I've sent my application to Quebec by last week. I'm wondering what is gonna be next. Is there anything that I have to do during this period?
Thank you

it's in order to get csq or what???
if yes, u just have 2wait till they process ur application and inform u about what 2 do next, either they will call u 4 interview or they send u the certificate w/ indications 2 follow 4 ur visa process.
b4 that if some documents r missing, they'll ask u 2 submit them.

Hello feras 80,

My application for Quebec selection certificate was sent in the first week of july and my lawyer got a receipt from them in aug. Per my lawyer, the call for interview has come for candidates who had applied a few weeks before me so i am expecting an interview call in dec or jan.

It is most likely that they will call you for an interview to judge your french language skills. I would imagine this would happen sometime early next yr. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi ravi,

there are plenty of law firms....look around..visit a couple...most of them have free consultations...If you have completed courses in french language the certificates would definitely help...if not start with french right away...the interview for CSQ will be in french.

Since my company was paying for the PR I decided to go with a law firm simply to avaoid the headache of ensuring the paperwork is ok. It is upto you to decide if you want to go through a law firm or file on your own. I see that a bunch of people have applied on their own and are doing just fine.

Good luck.

Hello mtlhuy,
Thanks for this information.
Are you applying for the US?
If they withdraw the fees from my bank account, does that mean that there is no missing documents?
Thank you

hi mtlguy,

thanks a lot for your reply.  You said you live in Montreal, would you mind telling me about climate conditions and job opportunities there. i searched online and came to know that most of the year Quebec will have extreme cold weather.  i have a 2year old kid and so i am little worried about this.

Hello feras80,

I am not applying from the US. I have been living and working in Montreal since March 2009. Yes, i believe all your paperwork are ok, hence the money was taken out of your bank account. If they need any information or any specific paperwork they will contact you. Let me know if you need any other info.

Good luck!

Ravi,

I studied, worked and lived in different parts of US for about 7 years. I moved to Montreal in March 2009. It was very cold, however no snow in Montreal then. I guess it really depends on which city you intend to settle. The summer this year was beautiful and it is the end of October and the cold is bearable. I do not see the cold weather being a problem at all...however this is my first year here and I have not seen the montreal snow yet.

What is your professional background? what types of jobs are you looking for? Look into the govt of quebec website, infact every province has its website with excellent details about every industry, the companies in the province, the employment prospects, wages, labor market information etc.

Good luck!

Hey Feras80,

You and I submitted our application around the same time, I submitted mine a week after yours...maybe we can update eachother on our status??

I am applying from the US, and they have not yet charged my card. According to the courier tracking, my package arrived on Oct 23,2009 and they have not charged my card yet. I hope my documents are straight.
Did they charge your card yet?

Ravi,

I've heard abt them....ince i already had a positive feedback regarding a perticular law firm i went ahead with it.

If i were you, i would fill out the assessment form for 3-4 law firms and if you qualify, these law firms will contact you to get your business. You can research on the positive, negative feedback regarding the law firms you have shortlisted and then decide on which one works out the best. Also find out how much each of them are charging...i've seen difference as much as 700$.

Carefully consider and make up your mind.

Goodluck!
