Hello,

I read somewhere that both, Quebec and Manitoba don't require job offers for qualifying for the PNP...so which one is better and why? Tried to look up online but can't find a lot of details comparing the two.

I know for sure that you dont need a job offer for the QSW stream. Manitoba- never checked that ! sorry.

why dont you just check up the site for it.... www.immigratemanitoba.com

you're right. you don't need a job offer to apply for manitoba pnp. there's a few different streams in mpnp, one of them gives you an option of being sponsored by your friends or a community from manitoba. also there's a strategic stream whereby you can get a letter of invitation from a manitoba immigration officer during one of the immigration fairs or you can go on an exploratory trip to manitoba and go to a pre-scheduled interview with a manitoba immigration officer. during that exploratory visit you're supposed to find out as much as possible about manitoba such as job opportunities, schooling and so on. if you successfully go through the interview you'll receive a letter of invitation and you'll be able to apply in manitoba pnp.

what about the ordinary skilled worker program like the one for quebec? does such a program exist? i basically want to compare that process with the quebec process, and know why one is preferable and why.

even in the general stream you have to prove your connection to the province of manitoba. here's an excerpt from manitoba immigration website relating to that stream:

The MPNP General stream is for skilled workers who can be assessed enough points in each assessment factor and who can demonstrate their intention and ability to establish successfully and permanently in Manitoba. The assessment factors are explained below.

To be eligible to apply under the General stream you must provide one of the following:

proof of a close relative in Manitoba
two affidavits of support (MAS), each completed by a close friend or distant relative in Manitoba
proof that you have previously worked full-time in Manitoba for at least six months
proof that you completed an educational program in Manitoba of at least one academic year (excluding language-training programs)

if you satisfy at least one of these requirements you can apply through the general stream.
