Hi zb134,
welcome to the forum,
indeed I must congratulate because, you have the privilege of being in Group 1 as per the new rules after 31st march 2012.

regarding your eduation, pls refer to the below pdf files and search for your relevant education/AOT.

www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/divers/domaines-12-16.pdf
www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/divers/domaines-6.pdf

moreover, these 2 files are referred to consider points for AOT. So, for your masters degree, you will get points of education as per masters degree and for AOT, you will get points for equivalent degree from the above list.

As you mentioned, you are on PGWP, pls check below link for temporary workers in quebec who wish to settle permanently in Quebec:
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/temporary-workers/stay-quebec/index.html

I am glad I found this thread and my deep gratitude to all who take the time to answer the questions .
I hope this has not been asked before but honestly it's rather impossible to go thru all these posts.

I am an Indian working in Montreal on a post graduate work permit. My question is in regards to section five of the application form where it asks to choose from the selection grid for awarding 12to 16 points

I completed my masters in management from McGill but can't really find the right code for this...I see that all the relevant ones say bachelors?

Please guide me

Thank You for your reply and its good to know I'm in a privileged category.

In regards to the two PDF's: I can see that I would qualify for my Mechanical Engineering Undergrad as per this document immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/divers/domaines-6.pdf as I did it outside canada.

However, I did my Masters in Management in Montreal and looking a immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/divers/domaines-12-16.pdf I see most of the mention BACC.
Does it mean if one did a BACC. or above you qualify? Also, the closest I can find to a degree in management is Gestion et administration des entreprises (BACC. - 3 ans)

Thanks in advance for any replies Wink

Hi nismo51,
Your profiles seems good to go,
But ur chances of getting csq will become more strong if your spouse can become Principal Applicant, since his credentials looks more superior than yours, such as btech degree, b1 french etc.

Just few points related to ur spouse:
is the work experience of your spouse related to his btech education?
And what is ielts score for your spouse?

Thank you very much mkshah.

Your suggestions are valuable for us.

But as far as we know, Bsc MLT (medical laboratory technology) gives 12 points in area of training rather than B.Tech in mechanical engineering which gives only 6 points in area of training (degrees gained outside of Quebec).

Also if AOT gives 12 points there is no cap in applications rather than AOT of 6 points which has cap of 14500.

Thats why we are considering of going with my degree of Bsc. MLT as principal applicant.

Please correct me if i am wrong. also can u please give us point wise allocation to get a clear picture.

Yes work experience of my spouse is related to mechanical engineering only, ielts not given.

je vous remercie beaucoup!

Hi friends,

Only the principal applicant earn points for work experience isnt that? I am asking that because I am finding dificult to get the letters from my wife's ex jobs, so I could just write nothing on her experiences, but whether or not it would be a problem for us?

Just as her I also think about not wrinting about our work experience in USA in 2007 as I find difficult of getting the letters from the company.

Would just not writing those experience in those cases be a problem for us?

My other doubt is about certified true copies, is that ok if we just send all notorized?  university certifications, transcript, etc..?

Thanx in advance..

Thanx

Dear Members,
Need Suggestion on  1 point which is for the funds , how much funds do i need to show for the single applicant for Quebec QSW and what are the forms to show it.

1. can it be in form of Tax saving Fixed Deposits.
2. Can it be in form of PF Account.
3. Can it be in form of NSC.

Please Suggest the best way of showing the Funds to claim 1 Point.

Thanks & Regards

Upon arrival at the airport, how much proof of funds do immigration officers ask for Quebec skilled workers  In the official website of quebec they only require 1 applicant to show CAD $ 2,889 and NOT $11,115 as stated in the CIC website. Are they strict about this? I'm worried that I might not be able to show $11K because all along I was informed that you only need $2,889 for quebec immigration. For those who got a successful PR status upon arrival at the airport, I need your experiences on this   Thanks!

Thanks Abhisri for your reply & detailed point calculation.

just I am still confused whether they award point for 1 year diploma(distance learning) or not after 12+3.

What I have checked through internet sources they consider distance learning only from IGNOU however my diploma will be from Narsee Munji institute of Management.
