I suggest you to open an account ( in case of Indian NRI account) from your home country which can be accessed from abroad.

I had bad experience with Scotia Bank and I moved recently to TD Bank ( Canada Trust Bank ) which is far better than the previous one.
and i opened NRI account with HSBC and found very useful to transfer money online.

these are my suggestions only.

How about Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and HSBC ? Are they of any good ??
Since HSBC is a multinational Bank I though it would be the best for money transfer especially if one has opened another account in his/her home country before moving to Canada !! What do you think bro ?

Hello OsamaR,

  You are doing really a great job by updating all the info of QSW aspirants !!! So if you don't mind here is a another little suggestion from me about this list, that the list would be more reflective and easy to track ones status if you can arrange it BIQs wise and in descending order as well  i.e. just put firstly all the members from say BIQ, Hong Kong in say Blue color font in descending order then put secondly all the BIQ, Paris members in say Orange color font in descending order and like that...... (All BIQs in descending order and of different color fonts). So in this way one can easily find ones status compare to others in the same BIQs and no need to search or compare it with others BIQs as it is being of no use.

Great suggestion, I have arranged the list based on BIQ and but in ascending order Smiley I have not changed the color of the BIQs but I have put the head of each column again above each BIQ..

  Now it's looking great and definitely very reflective !!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy but still I can't understand that why did you break BIQ, Hong Kong applicants into two parts? Shocked Shocked Shocked : Please amend that parts and put all BIQ, Hong Kong applicants all together.

Since HSBC is a multinational Bank I though it would be the best for money transfer especially if one has opened another account in his/her home country before moving to Canada !! What do you think bro ?

Hi Osamar,
yes HSBC is good option...and I have no idea about RBC. I opened accounts with HSBC for money transfers to my parents ( online transfer is easy form Canada Account to Indian Account and fees are not so bad )

Yes, you are correct, open account prior to move. opening after move would be bit difficult..

for India I found HSBC to be a good option. for other countries check with your national banks they should be able to guide you or you can check with your fellow country people who are already in Canada.

I can try to find if you tell me to which country you are looking for money transfer
