If we reach threshold of 57 (married), cant we submit French exams results later before interview?

According to new rules you have to submit the result before applying for QSW.
It should be better to take French exam first and apply later. 57 points is ok but try to score around 60-61.

Awaiting response

One of my friend completed his masters in business admin from UK. It was one year full time course. He completed his graduation in commerce from Mumbai,India (15 yrs).

So his total years of formal education is 16. Can he claim 12 points for his education..?? Do the immigration authorities consider 1 yr full time MBA studies..??

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi all

I am new here. I am planning to immigrate to Quebec. Please guide about how many points I will get, and also if my profile is currently suitable for Quebec skilled worker class

Education :
a) PGDM (IIM Ahmedabad) 2008-2010 [this is a full time 2 year general mba course but the IIMs in all their wisdom offer a PGDM- Post graduate Diploma in Management and not an mba degree]
b) Bachelor of Engineering (2003-2007) Manufacturing Process and Automation engineering [have no work ex related to this education]

Confused about claiming 10 or 12 points. Please read below under section - "Stay in Quebec"

Work Experience
28 months total
1+ yr as business development manager in ITES sector and 1+ year as an offshore research associate (equity research)
Also given CFA (AIMR) level 3 exam this year

Areas of Training
I don't know if I will get anything here  Lips sealed

Age
Just turned 27

Language
French : Cleared DELF A1, will get 2 points for listening and oral sections. Studying for A2 level
English : planning to give IELTS shortly but don't think it should pose any problems as  I am quite comfortable in English.

Unmarried

Financial
I guess it should be ok

Stay in Quebec
Tricky part. Can be make or break in my case . Spent about 3.75 months in Montreal in 2009. I have studied one term of my master's/pgdm as an exchange student at McGill Univ. Since it was a full term (Fall term - August end to December} I am not sure  how many points I will get for this. (5 or 2 or 0)

The other catch is McGill offers an MBA degree, I have a  separate marksheet for the Fall term by McGill. Since McGill has partnered with IIM Ahmedabad for MBA students exchange, we can say it considers our PGDM to be equivalent to an MBA. Can this reasoning be used to claim points for Masters education ? my total education would be 10+2 + 4 yrs engineering + 2 PGDM  = 18years

Family in Quebec
Nil

Please guide if I should proceed with my immigration application this year or wait to garner more points/experience
