I just spoke to BIQ, Hong Kong TWICE and they said that they are still accepting applications for skilled workers and the lady had heard of no new announcements on July 13th as per the 'Le soleil' article. Seems like the article was a misleading one. Request others to confirm.

hi egrace62, Its really nice to see you back in the forum. And many congratulations for your success of getting govt of quebec certificate for your job. I know this must have taken so much of hard work and efforts done by you. But now you have started a settled job and life. Thanks so much for sharing this very imp infor. This will surely help all of us. I wish you good luck and my best wishes with you n your family for a happy n fulfilliing life in quebec. God bless. Hello friends, Its been a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!! trust evryone is doing great... by July 26th, it would av been 9months since i landed in Montreal and i wish to jsut share some of the few things i av come to know and experienced! Before i proceed i will like to state that, i got my professioanl permit as a Chemist in the month of May which allows me to use the title of a chemist and also to work as same i got a Job in my field as a Chemical Analyst( Drug research and Development) with Kabs Pharmaaceutical Services on 11th July 2012. and i ahve since resumed.CREDENTIAL EVALUATION:Majority of the jobs available will never demand credential evaluation. and the reason is not far-fetched ( these are low paying jobs that apparently does not require any special skills) But i also will like to state that there are also few very good jobs that are high paying hence they require credential evaluation Some Employers that request for this are: Government of Quebec: The government of Quebec is a huge recruiter of new immigrants afterall they selected them . and the jobs are really good with nice pecks. one does not need to b fluent in french b4 one get recruited but credential evaluation is a MUST, other conditions are: professional membership permit for those who are in a regulated profession. Moreso, there is also an examination to b administered on all applicants for the purpose of shortlisting the candidates only those who passed will then go to the interview stage. a fluent level of french is absolutely NOT required bcos the government aim is to increase the number of non french speakers in public service. but after employment, the new employee will have to get enrol for french courses for to improve their french skillsskillsThe recruitment process takes long time like 9months or even a year but then it is what it if one eventually get the job. you can follow job postings with the government of Quebec at http://www.carriere.gouv.qc.ca/

Yes, everybody and all new applicants or will-be applicants... Pls dont read all these news articles... As already shared by so many members before, here I am again sharing that anyone who qualifies under the following CRITERIA can still apply for qsw. It is not on hold completely. It as follows: You or your accompanying spouse hold a diploma awarded by a teaching institution in an area of training allowing you to get 6 (see list, in French, 38 kb), 12 or 16 points under the area of training criterion of the selection grid for skilled workers (see list, in French, 35 kb). The number of years of study required to obtain your diploma must be at least equal to the number of years required to obtain that diploma in Québec. This diploma was obtained less than five years before the date of your application. Failing that, you must have practised, on a full-time basis and for at least one year out of the five years preceding the date of your application, a profession or trade in an area related to that diploma.Link: www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/applications-receipt.htmlthis is true! do not trust news articals....only official website!!

Dear Bilal,
They require Birth certificate, now a days in Pakistan Birth certificate issued by many authorities like Union Council, Municipality as well as NADRA, you can submit whichever you have, I submitted Municipality for myself and wife and NADRA for my son.
Dear All and Specially Javeed, I have a genuine problem in hand. I pray to have some alternative. Please respond to the following; My professional experience starts from 2004 to date. This makes around 8 years of experience. I switched about 3 companies. One company that I worked with about 1.5 years, I am not able to get my Income tax Deduction Certificate from it. Tax Deduction proof as I know is mandatory to make your said experience genuine. So guys, is there any alternative to provide tax Deduction certificate with Experience letter. I mean salary slips from the company showing tax deduction would work or any thing other acceptable means which could make my claimed experience duration genuine in selection process? Looking for some quick thoughts of this, thanks. Bilal

Dear Bilal, Your previous 4 years are important for you to claim points if this company is older then that then there is no need to provide their income tax certificate. If this 1.5 years are within 4 years then go to your income tax office near to you they will provide you income tax return or you can get a latter from that company state that your income tax was deducted during this period. It is not a big problem.

Hello Guys,
This is Vaibhav from India. I am planning to apply for Quebec Skilled worker visa from India. Some highlights of my profile.
I have 2.5 years of IT experience in .Net technologies with one of India`s leading software exporters. I am currently working on a US Telecom`s giant project. I am yet to give French A2 level certification. Apart from this I am an engineer in Information Technology from India. By the time I get a PR(if I apply) I will have 3.3 years of experience.
I want to know of how are job opportunities for IT guys in Canada? I heard that there good job options for IT people, with a salary of around 5000 - 7000 CAD per month.
that is true..but it is based on your experience..
Please let me know about this. I am planning to file my visa through an Indian visa agency Visas Simply, which is quoting me 130000INR(2350CAD approx) + 750CAD for visa charges. Please let me know if should go ahead with my decision on not.
in my opinion this is useless...they do nothing other than downloading application and ask you to fill and post them on behalf of you. I am sure you should be able to do this with a bit of effort.
One more query I had. Is it necessary to get the visa application filed through a Visa agency? I mean is there any complex procedure involved in filing the application? Can I myself file the application and save the 2350CAD which the filing agency is asking for? Offcourse, they say that they will be helping me with finding jobs after my PR is approved,
you can do it and can save money. and no body helps in finding jobs except government agencies, or using job websites you should be able to find one.
but then I don`t know what is the current market status there.
do not worry about the jobs market..there are up and downs always...just well prepared by having bank balance.
Also, let me know that if I come under Quebec skilled visa programme to Canada, can I apply/seek for jobs in whole of Canada or Quebec only?
Yes, that is also possible
Probably you all guys who have went there can guide me better.

Thanks Javeed, Income tax office was not the one who could help. The company is responsible for providing such statements. Any how, I have well about 5.5 years of experience after that company. So I think I am safe in claiming Max. 8 points and defending them at the same time. For the rest, I mean experiences older than that, I will only submit like the Experience Letter and the salary slips. Thanks Anyways, Jazakallah Khair

Don't bother about that. they don't require overhead in the case.

yes its very important tax to prove experience, when you get you interview they will send you email asking for it. Send proof for all required & claimed points with french... you will have chance for interview waiver, or your interview will be just a picnic Don't bother about that. they don't require overhead in the case.
