Do you have any official proof if there is any discrepancy between declared french level and submitted french level. and how much point will be cut down? any table. Or it is again your assumtion that it is IO's decision. quebec2011 has received no less points. they have received the actual points even though quenbec2011 has declared B2, but submitted B1. This is vague argument and no clear justification..

Hec006,

How are you my friend?  Firstly, I want to apologise for the back and forth debate yesterday, i'm not sure if the said debate was beneficial to yourself or other members because as it seems we are back to square one...so if I have offended you I apologise as it is not my intention to offend others but enlighten in truth and fairness.  What could easily anger me is some person(s) may have already applied but the information they give could hinder someone else's chances who also have that dream to migrate to Quebec (be it intentional or unintentional).  I am imploring, beseeching, Begging such persons to refrain from this practice as it destroys the credibility of the forum.

Now with this out of the way....I will address your post above.

As I stated previously, everything I say I can prove.  Let me just say the person who addresses all my concerns and whom my facts come from you are using their web site...

The following is a portion of an email sent to me

"Changes to your situation Please note that ONLY the following changes to your situation will have an impact on your application. Immigration Quebec requests an update no later than 30 days following the change, therefore please advise me as soon as possible:

Addition of a spouse or common-law partner
Separation or divorce
Birth of a child
Relocation to a new home
Completion of a degree
Receipt of a validated job offer
Completion of a French course or recognized exam in accordance with the level of French claimed on your forms.

*Please note that provision of documentation indicating a lower level of French than the level you indicated on your forms will be detrimental to your application.*"

Cheers

HI

I claimed B2 listening and speaking level 7 out of 12

but my level maybe A2/B1

but if they consider me A2 level I have enough points

will that have bad effect about my application or interview?

Hello Bluecougar26,
I am trying to find more info on obtaining the Junior Engineer's permit. I have an MS degree from a US university. Now the BS (Bachelors) program of the university is ABET accredited and hence falls under the Washington Accord. However there is no information on the accreditation for the MS program ?
So is it worth submitting the application for the permit, since I'm not sure if my MS degree can come under the Washington Accord.

Thanks for your help

It is possible to begin your application to the Order before you arrive in Quebec, I have done it myself. My file is under review as we speak. My  institution is included in the Washington Accord and is ABET accredited. If your institution is not covered by the accord you can still submit your paper work. After the review, there are 3 possible outcomes:

• require you to take admission (confirmatory and/or qualifying) examinations.
or
• recognize your training as equivalent.
or
• decline to recognize your training as equivalent, for the reasons provided.

This is taken directly from their website.

Follow this link and see what case you qualify for.

<didn't let me post the link>

My case may be different than yours, so the outcome will vary. The lady I spoke with in the admission office mentioned that the file evaluation takes between 6-8 weeks. I was hoping it would be quicker since I have my interview next week.

My advice is do it as soon as you can. This way you can have an answer to present to the interviewing officer when you are called for an interview for your QCS.

*Please note that provision of documentation indicating a lower level of French than the level you indicated on your forms will be detrimental to your application.*"
[/color] this is your assumption and misunderstaning regarding the argument.

Cheers

Anyway my friend, I don't want to continue the debate anymore. let's hope for the best. Everyone of us reach to our dreamland one day. :-)

yes, Quebec2011 has claimed B2, but he has submitted B1. In B1 exam, in listening section he has got >16 and speking section he has got < 16. that's he has got ( 4+3) =7. there is nothing like detrimental efect or punishment.

I believe that you only need your BS degree to apply for your junior license. Since yours falls under the Washington Accord you should be able to obtain your license. Tests may be required if your degree is older and the cirriculum has changed. The main reason to include your masters degree is to have it count towards your experience requirement for your full license (for which you will apply later). If accepted it can help you reduce the experince requirement for your professional license by 1 full year.

Did you get your masters from the same school where you got your bachelors?

i believe that the instructions on the website state that you should send copies of all your engineering degrees.

Hope this helps.

Hello bluecougar26,
sorry i did not include details about my bachelors degree. its a Bachelor of Technology degree from India. and thats why I'm not sure if my MS Degree in Engineering from a US univ (whose BS program is ABET accredited), will let me obtain the Junior Engineer's permit without the examinations.

Thanks again

I'm no expert in the matter so I would suggest you email or call the Order directly.

With that, I will give you my opinion. I'm sure you can still apply for your license however you will apply as a candidate with a degree (Bs) from a country with no agreement. Your Ms can still help with the experience requirement but that would be all.

Hello vickRocks,

Can you please share the whole email. It is a gr8 information.

It refers to the date on which AOR is written or on the date , I have received the AOR by post?

Friend, Can you please write down a follow up email saying that for French & English proficiency also, this same thing valid...

Then we will have solid proof.

Do you have October, 2011 GPI ?

I got my AOR in October 2010, but i they did not tell me which GPI i come under because i sent my A1 in november 2011, A2 in March 2012.

Below is the email:
Bonjour,

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/informations/statistiques-publications.html

It is decided by the MICC that the new directive will be applied to files received on or after December 7, 2011 only and the new requirement will not apply to applications already received before that date.

However, you can send us recognized language test results confirming your French and English proficiency. You might be asked to provide evidence of your knowledge of French and English according to the level you have declared on the application form. If your file is complete and your assessment indicates that you have attained the general passing grade of the selection grid, the interview may not be required.

Language skills are always evaluated in the same way, by the same score. You can find this information in the Guide des procédures d'immigration at the following address:

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/informations/statistiques-publications.html

Bien cordialement,
