Hi everyone,

I have finished my MS in Sweden and after that I got PhD in Ireland and presently I am finishing my PhD here. I have been staying in Europe for the last 6 years. Recently I submitted my Quebec application for skilled workers (CSQ) to Canadian embassy in France. They have returned my application, saying that they need IELTS score!

Do I need to submit IELTS score?

It would be if I could get suggestions from you. I appreciate your replies.

Yes, the rules were changed late last year, all applicants seeking to migrate to Quebec regardless or origin, must submit test scores for both French and English from an approved board.

Hi mkshah,

Who ever can help on this, i am trying for the QSW got held up because of the DELF A1 verification, i am filing via. an agency in bangalore, India. Recently i got married and my my application status changed from single applicant to Principle applicant. Anyways i had started my process with them before the 6th Dec change in rule and before my marriage now. They ask me that we both need DELF A1 certification.
Can you guys suggest if there is a work around, to apply fast, as minimum i have to wait for 3 months before i can give my DELF A1 exam.
my details are:
Principle Applicant
=================
Age 29
Qualification : MCA (Masters in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
                    BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
Work Exp: 5 yrs as a Software Quality Engineer
IELTS : not given
DELF A1 : not given

Dependent Applicant
=================
My Spouse
Age 26
Qualification : MCA (Masters in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
                    BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
Work Exp: 4 yrs as a Application Release Engineer
IELTS : not given
DELF A1 : not given

Funds are sufficient, so we should get point for that too. Would giving IELTS alone work. My spouse has travelled a couple of times to US on B1 but i am not sure if it would help our case.

First of all, I am sorry to hear of your situation.  I don't believe if there is any 'work around' follow what the visa officers instruct you to do within the time frame they request.  Your credentials look good, to solidify your application you need at least A1 DELF.  Enroll in an institution that will have you speaking the language in no time.  A good one I can suggest is Alliance Francaise, perhaps there is one in your country.  The approved French exams are done there as well.

Bonne Chance!

No u will get points as below

If u pass a1 listening and speaking then 1 each total 2 points.
If u pass a2 listening and speaking then 3 each total 6 points
If u pass b1 listening and speaking then 4each total. 8 points. ( more then 16 rights in exam. If in case u get less then 15 marks then they will give u points for a2 level which is 3 each. No point for b1 will be given to u in case u will fail in b1exam.)

Hope u understand.

hi c82, if u get 16 or above, then points for that level will be given, say for B1 u will get 4 pts for each section. If u score less than 16 but 8 or more, then u will get points for lower level, for B1, u will get pts of A2 which is 3 pts. If ur score is less than 8, u will not get any pts for that level.
Hope this clarifies ur doubt. Smiley

can you please tell me where it's written that somebody who get less than 8 marks and more than 5 marks  fetch 0 point, there is nowhere written in guide that less than 8 marks fetch 0 point. As logic says, less than 16 marks and more than 5 marks fetch points of lower level.

Ambi Sir,

you mean to say I already got 2 point for A1+6 point for A2= is 8 point,And If I will pass the B1 with 16 or more then 16 I will get another 8 point so total is 2+8+8 is countable or it will be the last exam points 8 is countable?
