Hello everyone,
after reading so many posts in different forums about applicants that have been waiting for their medicals for more than 18 months I decided to create a new thread for all of us that fit under that situation so we can keep each other updated by posting and sharing news, follow ups,information and successes , I will start with mine:
- Damascus
- Feb 2010
- Federal wait period
- total wait period: 20 months, no medicals yet
hopefully this will keep us on track or at least an estimation of when your turn or mine for medicals is up.
last reply from the embassy in Damascus in July stated that they are processing application prior to January 2010 (so 2009 applications to be exact)
looking forward for your posts and info.

Hey All,
We are almost in the same phase, although some of us waited for along period...
Hope this thread will keep us tracking what's going on and maybe have an estimated time for our medical tests...

Hello to everyone, I just discovered this forum and after a short check-up i can already say that this a great one! Am a candidate to the Canadian immigration as a qualified worker for Quebec. I started with this long process in April 2009 and am not done still now!. by God's grace i received my Quebec Certificate of selection in May 2010 and now i am dealing with the federal section. October 2010 was the date i got my federal receipt and since that time still waiting for medicals. In a mail i received from the embassy few days ago, they let me know that my dossier is being revised and that for now they are dealing with the dossiers received before January 2010. they also add that it's only when they will finish with the verification of my antecedents that they will be able to send me forms for the medical visit. SO THAT'S IT !!! SORRY THE POOR QUALITY OF MY ENGLISH.  AM A FRENCH SPEAKER. |

thank you all for posting your info, we are all on the same boat, I can't help shake that feeling that something is definitely wrong after calculating all your wait times for your medicals, if any of you attempted to contact the embassy rather by phone or emails, please share that info and lets put them all together and see what we can conclude from them.

21 months here, i contacted the embassy but the answer wasn't very helpful. it was kind of a standard one that they give to everyone |

well email reply took around 53 days stating what Jet mentioned already, phonecalls would result in a dead end, you cannot get passed the operator whom has no answers to any of your questions (damascus), calling the CIC call center in canada would not help either, their operator would ask you nicely to call back in Damascus.
