If u are married u should go to interview with ur partner, as he is awarded points too. No need for kids to be present.
Hope u'll be waived from interview..
I met a family last month they had the interview in Istanbul in february, they are from Beirut. She is a teacher with 20 years of experience, with a canadian brother..her husband works with UN on contract basis, they have 2 kids. And they were refused. They told me the lady was vv bad from the start, she was from Algeria..and started to find them error after error, .....anyway they weren't prepared a lot, no info about Canada as they were asked about schools there, transportation, jobs....and i believe they lost points at AGE, as they are both 46 !!
She is also french educated, so her french is perfect...but not english at all.
The interview duration was 1 hour..and in the end the lady told them ..sorry u are not enough prepared for he time being..i can not give u a CSQ under those circumstances!!!
I think it depends on the officer too....in the end they decide if yes or No...

yes could be they werent prepared, or they werent serious, I know a lot are applying just because others were applying.

your nice young family this is an advantage,

-try to search for schools there, and contact them, print the mails too.
-find house rents, where you'll live
-what you will work, how you can get job
-also transportation

100% werent serious, because they want immigrants, they are willing to help us, but show them interest

maybe they dont have enough points because 46+ they get 0 but they gave him chance for interview.

I am sure youll get it on 22 May? right?

I provided them lot of documents,
- Bacc II degree, certified and translated
- MY BS certified and also Equivalence from Quebec certifed & transcript and courses outlines
- Working experience in lebanon, documents from tax/DAMAN that I was registered
- working experience letter from current job in UAE and copy of my residence visa + 1st salary payslip and last payslip when I applied
- Proof of english letter
- Proof of french letter

two days ago I was asked for my new visa renewal copy  Grin

They are working hard

Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding Quebec degrees and I need your feedback PLEASE.

As per this link: http://www.canadavisa.com/recent-changes-to-quebec-immigration-a-summary.html. The following 2 categories fall under group 1:

  • Students who have obtained, or are about to obtain, a diploma awarded by a Quebec institution
AND
  • Applicants, or their spouses, who hold a diploma awarded by a teaching institution in an area of training (field of study)which allows them to receive 12 or 16 points on the province's selection grid.
The diploma must be obtained less than five years before the date of application, or the applicant must have practiced in this field on a full-time basis for at least one of five years preceding the date of application.
Areas of training may receive different points depending on whether the degree was obtained inside or outside of Quebec.

So my question is does people who have obtained a diploma awarded by a Quebec institution has to be within the 5 years or it can be awarded more than 5 years ago?!

Osama if the diploma is awarded by Quebec it can be older than 5 years....but if is not a Quebec diploma it must obtain 12 or 16 points to area of training be obtained less than 5 years OR having at least 1 year experience in a related field in the last 5 years.

Hope i was clear

Thank you RICOLUNA, but when I open the link, under points number 2 which is:
2.   Students who have obtained, or are about to obtain, a diploma awarded by a Quebec institution
there is nothing mentioned about the Diploma being awarded in the last 5 years.

and when you check point number 6 which is:
6.   Applicants, or their spouses, who hold a diploma awarded by a teaching institution in an area of training (field of study)which allows them to receive 12 or 16 points on the province's selection grid
•   The diploma must be obtained less than five years before the date of application, or the applicant must have practiced in this field on a full-time basis for at least one of five years preceding the date of application.
•   Areas of training may receive different points depending on whether the degree was obtained inside or outside of Quebec.

There only you can find that the Diploma has to be in the last 5 years!!

The same is also here on Quebec Immigration website with more details:  http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/applications-receipt.html
It's confusing!! I am discussing this also in another thread and I got the same feedback of yours but I still don't get it! What do you think?
