Queary regarding Imigration for W1 Category

Hi!
  I have w1 visa issued at accra on 28th nov 2011. But my agent still not allowing me to board the flight, the reason he gives is , I canot travel allone i can travel only in a group this is a new norm from 2012 issued by immigration department. Is this is correct?
  If not my next plan is to fourcefully collect my passport from him, afterward what is the procedure to travel on W1 visa. Some of the doubts i have are as follows,
1. Should i need to contact my employer before the date of departure. So that they would carry airport clearence certificate & LMO to immigration (in this case my agent has not let me know the employer name what is the way to find the employer name and contact no)
2. Do i need to have Insurance, travelrs cheque to travel.
3. any other travelers document.

Pl some one guid me i am waiting for this more that 2 months.

I hate to say this, but it sounds like your agent is running a scam.

There is no rule that says you can't travel alone. You should also know the name and address of your employer by now and you should have spoken with them (been interviewed by them) as part of the hiring process.

If your visa has been approved, why hasn't your agent returned your passport? This doesn't make sense to me.

I really hope I'm wrong about this being a scam, but too many things about what you've said don't add up.
