They have asked me to give a correct date of birth of my son..
There was a discrepancy in my sons' date of birth in birth certificate which was corrected by government office and forwarded along with hospital date of birth certifcate , minor certifcate

Now all these have same date of birth

If that was the only doc/clarification asked; & given that now your son's DOB in the B/Cert & his Pp matches - u shouldn't be worried. There's nothing adverse/checks going on with your file, just the usual administrative delay - u should hear from them soon.

Nov-Dec is typically bad time for Visa/s - every VO usually delay the same till Jan/Feb. I believe u'd be getting the Pps back soon... Relax!

The employees at the visa offices (New Delhi is one of those) are still facing teething problems with GCMS. They have to simultaneuously work for some time on CAIPS and GCMS which is causing delays. Yes, things are going to slow down further as Canadian VOs will start travelling to Canada and other countries for X-mas holidays from 15 Dec-10 Jan.

No, there's no such time limit. Though they understand the predicaments of expatriates & try to send their pps back asap, if not stamped (due to any unforeseen reasons).

There r cases here, on this forum, where the pps r yet held back by their VOs for over 6-8 months. I hope that wouldn't be your case though.

What is GCMS?

Are you suggesting VO sends CAIPS notes? I thought file is simply printed from records (computer) and sent?

What is GCMS?
The Global Case Management System (GCMS) is Citizenship and Immigration Canada's (CIC's) electronic business platform. It is integral to making the citizenship and immigration system more modern, efficient, flexible and responsive to Canada's labour market. It is essential to improving citizenship and immigration services, maintaining program integrity and strengthening the security of Canada.

GCMS deployment at all the missions started in June 2010 and is scheduled to complete by March 2011. It is replacing over 10 years old CAIPS system.

I didn't suggest anything regarding CAIPS notes.
