Dear Qorax,
It has been long giving us your precious advices. Now I have a problem which is not related to immigration but I know you can give me some advice. I left my country with my kids willing to start a new life in Canada. The problem I am facing now is that I have a son who was about to graduate from Mechanical Engineering. He applied to 2 universities for Mechanical or computer engineering but his application was refused. He even applied to physics and he was also refused from admission to this program. Now he feels lost and he doesn't know what to do. He went to the admissions office to ask for an appointment with a counselor but they told him that he can't see a couselor unless he is a student in the engineering department. Is it possible to guide us?
all thanks,

all thanks,

There's limited info in your post to opine constructively.
BTW, I don't see any reason why your son couldn't join an univ. for pursuing higher studies, once u already r a PR; & if he had applied before commencement of a session.

We have many members in our group here whose kids r in the univs... Kanamen is an eg. from this forum; Mitali of this forum works in a univ. -- try contacting them.

Were his marks qualified for engineering ? Engineering has competitive entrance requirements.

well, I assume that the university he studied in in my home country is well recognized in Canada but he doesn't have any problem repeating and taking as many upgrading courses as they will demand. But unfortunately they are not guiding him about how he can through the process in order to be accepted in this major. He loves his major a lot and he doesn't want to start a new major from zero especially that he almost spent 3 years studying mechanical engineering. Can anybody guide us please?
