Hi There,

I've got  SITUATION. sort of. plz. advise me.

I've lived in the UK for about a deacade. For the last 14 months, I had no job. Despite a hard search I couldn't find work as my visa got expired. Then home office refused my visa. I appealed and bla bla.... that's why no body was had been willing to recruit me..........NOW NUTSHELL, I borrowed for approx. £13,000 (GBP) from different banks and credit card companies to survive, u know
well .... now the point is, I have no money to pay them back. The funds i have to take for Canada Landing about $20,000/00CAD is now the only money I've had...... My Question is How should I take this {i read youe post [Proof of 'Landing' Funds:
 from http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/proof-of-landing-funds-t39318.0.html ] already and am quite conversantnow with the procedure}

I can't return this money for now to the banks including HSBC AND CITI but will return later when i'm settled in canada.
I'm thinking of taking 10K cash and rest 10K [5K, bank draft+ 5K Travelles chq] .
Q. Do these Banks and credit card companies or debt collection agencies get or can get the details from these source TC and B.Drafts, if u stop paying

Q. Is there any other way to transfer money

Dear ,

you can go for ICICI prepared card(Travel card) from ICICI UK. 

 they will transfer all  money to this prepared card (xchange rate apply) and they will give invoice stamped by ICICI bank to show officer at POE that you have x amount in the card.

 you can use this card in Canada like local debit card. there is noe extra transaction fees if you use it in canada. there is no time limit of money you have to use in card.

whenever you want you can take money from card ( xchange rate apply).

 Pls let me know if you need more help....

I did the same when i landed here from india. still I am using travel card like debit card here.


But it is up to you whether you want to go for it or not.

Wow that's a wonderful news.... but i have few more Questions:
Can some of my friends get this debit card for me. but this way his name will appear on the card and invoice. will they accept that if  so
2- if i take his card how will i use it on cash machines or in the bank
3- do the banks ask for any ID if we need to take money out...bye

There is no name appear on credit card because  ICICI have all this travel Card ready they have to activate and load amount depends on currency into card and you will get it next business day or same day after you filled up necessary forms

But they gonna ask you your PR Visa photocopy to load amount into Card and issue invoice.


You can use your friend Card if he has applied and got it. but your puspose is different you have to show this amount as POF at POE so CBSA officer will not accept your friends card.

Yes Visa copy is needed in all cases  any time of visa  it will do.

if you have USA visa and you load Canadian dollors it will do.
