Had photos taken,  studio puts an ink stamp on back of each photo with studio name, address etc.   Will this stamp ruin the photos for immigration purposes?  Will they be returned?

If you have to write your name and address at the back, how would you do that. If you haven't been asked to write anything at the back and if that stamp has no impact on front on actual foto than it shouldn't be a problem. Why would a photo studio do that ? strange  Undecided

There is still space to write down name etc.  But instructions say no ink marks on photos but it is not clear if they mean ink marks on the front of photo or not.   Really annoying that the rules are not clear on this and CIC should have some type of manual specifically for photo specifications along with examples of photos which are not accepted.  I have yet to find such info.

no ink marks on photos would mean on the front of photo coz we have to write info on the back and that classes as ink mark. To me if that stamp has no effect on front than it should still be acceptable. Wait for other seniors to input re this matter.

I'd ask that photographer to stop it... & if he didn't listen - would move on to another one... after all it's my money!

But seriously, it shouldn't matter. Most such stamps r indellible - they won't smudge the front of the other pic. Till the time u r able to print your particulars (as required by CIC) at the back - u r good to go.
