Not an expert but you can file a complaint with Police and attach the FIR copy or any other document you can obtain from court while sending passports, but do get an advise from lawyer. All the best

truthseeker, when was this pp lost? How old was this pp? As per my little knowledge the police may not agree for the lost complaint if it is fairly old lost. But not sure. Nd if thts the case an affidavidavit stating the same can work. Since its a genuine case ndvo may accept it. Rgds abhi Qorax,

Old Age Security, Tax & Medical Benefits in CanadaSoon many of us would 'become' Senior Citizens here - and it's good to know what benefits we could get by virtue of being in Canada. BTW, crossing 55 already makes us 'seniors' in Canada (I'm soon going to be there) and that opens up many doors towards expense sharing, publicly as well as privately. However it is the 'golden age' of 65 that really doles out the benefits (now medicines become FREE too). In Canada, the retirement income system is founded on three pillars - two public and one private:P1: The federal OAS programme ensures that most people over 65 are provided with basic income support. It is funded from general federal government revenues. P2: The jointly stewarded CPP, and Quebec's parallel programme, provides basic earnings-related pensions for all workers. Contributions from workers and their employers, as well as investment earnings, pay for benefits. P3: The private pillar of tax-assisted RPP (Registered Pension Plans) and RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Plans) encourage voluntary saving for retirement. AS A SENIOR CITIZEN WHAT IS OFFERED:1. OAS: Old Age Security Pension. Granted to anyone who is 65+ and lived in Canada for the last 10-yrs. Though under International Social Security arrangements with many countries, ppl who lived in those countries may also qualify for OAS after 1-yr's stay here. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/oas/pension/oldagesecurity.shtml2. GIS: Guranteed Income Suppliment. Ppl of low-income who r availing OAS can also get this benefit. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/isp/pub/oas/gismain.shtml3. Spousal GIS: And if their spouses or widows r between 60 & 64 -- they r also eligible for this allowance. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/oas/allowance/allowance.shtml4. ALWS: Allowance for the "Survivor' Program: This allowance provides a monthly non-taxable benefit to low-income widowed spouses who are not yet eligible for the OAS. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/oas/allowance/survivorallowance.shtml5. GAINS: Ontario Guarantee Annual Income System. This ensures a small but guaranteed sum to 65+ ppl. http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/en/credit/gains/6. CPP: Canada Pension Plan. If we were employed then it automatically gets contributed. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/cpp/retirement/canadapension.shtml7. ODB: Ontario Drugs Benefit Program. Certain 'limits' of Prescription drugs, Eye examinations & Dental care r taken care of by ODB. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/drugs/programs/odb/odb.aspx8. TDB: Trillium Drug Benefit Program. For high drugs cost cases, under certain 'annual fees' we'd get nearly all of the medical costs free. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/drugs/programs/odb/opdp_trillium.aspx 9. EAP: Exceptional Access Program. For every other medicine there is the EAP for 65+ ppl. http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/drugs/programs/odb/opdp_eap.aspx10. OFAS: Ontario Fair Assessment System. Property Tax Relief for low-income Seniors or low-income persons with Disabilities. http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/en/publications/bulletins/frost_9907.html11. OSHPTG: Ontario Senior Homeowner's Property Tax Grant. If one is over 64-yrs and owns a home s/he can get upto $500 per yr under this program. http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/en/credit/shptg/index.html12. HHRT: Healthy Homes Renovation Tax Credit. Upto $1500 worth of tax credit 'each yr' is provided to homeowners & "tenants" if they r 65+. http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/en/credit/hhrtc/index.html13. Age Amount (Line-301 Credit) in Tax Returns if u r 65+. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/ncm-tx/rtrn/cmpltng/ddctns/lns300-350/301/menu-eng.html14. RRSP (Line-129 Credit): Registered Retirement Savings Plans. The purpose of RRSP is to promote savings for retirement by employees. http://www.investopedia.com/university/rrsp/rrsp1.asp#axzz22bowwA1GMOTHER OF ALL SITES FOR SENIORS:a) Canada Benefits: http://www.canadabenefits.gc.ca/f.1.2cl.3st @ .jsp?geo=5&catid=11&searchallcats=52,53 b) Seniors Canada: http://www.seniors.gc.ca/home.jsp?&font=0&lang=enc) BDO Canada gives out complete info on Senior's Income Taxes. http://www.bdo.ca/library/publications/tax/taxfactors/2007-01c.cfmd) Tax Credits by CRA: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/seniors/After all's said and done, senior citizens, at least in Canada, are fairly well supported despite their complaints that the Government of Canada knows little and produces even less. Hi, As of now the general Federal Skilled Worker category [FSW-1] stands 'withdrawn'... which is likely to reopen in 2013, but what form [eligibility criterions] it'd have is unknown. Thus, currently u could apply for the Canadian PR 'only' if u've a "job offer" in Canada [FSW-2] -- or get a 'sponsorship' under a PNP scheme [Provincial Nominee Pgme]. As u have the Canadian visas [TRVs] - u might try entering here - then look for a job. And if u find a suitable employer - they could move ur TWP [work permit]. Which will make u eligible for filing ur PR applications in 2-yrs' time, as per current rules, which is also expected to be "reduced" by a yr by 2013, in which case u might be eligible in 1-yr's time. All the best. Qorax

2013 Immigration Levels PlanningCIC is consulting with stakeholders and the public on immigration levels for 2013 & beyond... specifically on the (1)total number of new PRs Canada should accept - and (2)what should be its distribution within different categories. The consultations are exploring three (3) main questions: 1. What is the appropriate level of immigration for Canada? Should the number of immigrants per year change? 2. What is the appropriate distribution between the number of economic immigrants, family class and refugees? 3. What role can immigration play to support Canada's economy? Bottomline: In planning for the total number of people to admit as PRs, CIC must not only balance the Government of Canada's immigration objectives, but also consider broader government commitments, input from provinces and territories, and current and future economic conditions. The Department must also take into account its operational ability to process applications in a timely manner, as well as the capacity of communities to welcome newcomers. Today I got new CAIPS , in this it is mentioned PAPER FILE SEND TO PA FILE BFD TO M1G ON 1-06-2012. Other all information is same no change at all. What does this difference indicate ?
6 months before ECU was asked to request PPTS * 2 Med* 2 RPRF *2

Hi, No one can really opine on that... things r currently so fluid that all planning/forecasting has gone haywire. As of now ur file is held-up in the gestation area... for ECU to recommence processing after the situation [CIC based] stabilizes. Pls keep the faith !Qorax

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first posting. This is with regard to my application under the FSW category. I had dispatched my application on June 27th so as to reach Nova Scotia CIC office by July 3rd when the new quota was supposed to open. However on July 1st, I came to know about the temporary freeze on new applications. Just to clarify, I do not fall under the Ph.D. category nor have a qualifying job offer. Now I have the following questions:- 1. Will CIC return back my application since they are not accepting new applicants? 2. What happens to the CAD$550 processing fees? Will they encash it irrespective of the fact that they have a freeze on new FSW applications? 3. I enquired with my bank and they said CIC hasn't as yet encashed my bank draft. Should I issue a stop payment instruction although it will cost me US$75 as fees 4. I haven't received any sort of communication from the CIC. So how can I make sure the status of my application.
I would really appreciate any advice/suggestions on these questions. I am currently in the US on a F-1 visa but planning to go back to my home country at the end of this month so plz respond asap
Thanks
