Bank draft &/or prearranged Canadian bank a/c r better.
-No, drafts do not get addnl charges while depositing in ur a/c here.
-Prearranged Canadian bank a/c takes time, around 2-months, if u've the time it'd be fine.

Qorax

Thanks for the reply Qorax!

How about TCs, do they get charged if deposited in a/c?

I have around 40-45 days before landing, but i think ICICI's Canadian a/c should still be possible. Do you think a statement from that account will be accepted by the IO?

-The amount on the TC will, usually, not be taken at par values.
-Most retailers would charge u some fees to encase them.
-And I guess, the purchase price of the TC will be higher than the draft's issuance costs.

Hi,

-Ur SELDEC is pending due to a review of the ECU.
-Ur IO has "provisionally approved" the meds, but lately ECU has a greater say.
-That date of IMM1017S is a tentative one. In all probability that letter hasn't been despatched to u.

U need to await a bit... and pray.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info Qorax. Appreciate your help as always Smiley

Yes you are right, TCs have a slightly higher exchange rate as compared to DD but many banks are waving off commission charges for TCs while DD issuance charges needs to be paid. However, if some amount of fee is involved to encash TCs.. then i think DD only would be a better choice.
Also, do DDs always take 30+ days to reflect in the bank a/c? If that is the case, may be i'll increase the amount of cash i plan to carry.

The wisest way to carry our settlement funds:
The 80:20 Rule. (80% Draft/s & 20% Cash)

Draft's Encashing Timeframe in Canada

-If the draft's drawee bank is in your city (of landing)................... different bank than yours............ 72 hrs.
-If the draft's drawee bank is NOT in your city (of landing)............ different bank than yours............ 96 hrs.
-If the draft's drawee bank is in your city (of landing)................... same bank as yours................... 24 hrs.
-If the draft's drawee bank is NOT in your city (of landing)............ same bank as yours................... 48 hrs.

Hi Qorax ,

Please advice , what does in-process means in terms for pre June applicants .

NDVO has put most of the pre June applicants to in-process and rejected few as well due to the job description.

Please advice.

Thanks

Do they start SC after getting medical results & updated docs or they will start after getting my child medical result?

In a lighter vein...

Did u know Carefour was called "Continent" till the yr-2000; and it was just one location - the Deira City Centre. And today it's all over Dubai.
