Dear Qorax,

I applied under NOC 9212 in January 2010, in Feb. 2012 my online status changed to decision made, before medicals decision made means I thought it could be a case of rejection and the same happened. they sent below answer.

Although the NOC code(s) correspond(s) to the occupations specified in the Instructions, the main duties
that you listed do not indicate that you performed the actions described in the lead statement for the
occupation, as set out in the occupational descriptions of the NOC, or that you performed all of the
essential duties and a substantial number of the main duties, as set out in the occupational descriptions of
the NOC. I am therefore not satisfied that you are a Supervisors of Petroleum or Gas and Chemical
Processing NOC code: 9212.

Is that because the NOC 9212 got deleted from NOC list on June 2010.

i got rejected, can i re-apply as a new applicant under NOC 8222 as this is also (supervisor for oil and gas), or their will be a problem as earlier i applied under 9212 and got rejected and they will not consider me.

If I can apply under NOC 8222, can you please let me now the main duties of NOC 8222.

Highly appreciate your response.

Thanks and regards

1. It's not due to the removal of the NOC from the MI-List... they genuinely might not be satisfied with ur JDs.
2. U can reapply under any NOC as long as u 'qualify' - ur previous rejection will have no influence on it's decision.

Canadian, Christopher Plummer wins an Oscar yesterday !

At 82, Christopher Plummer is the oldest Oscar winner ever. He displaces George Burns, who in 1976 was the oldest nominee to win a supporting actor Oscar at age 80; and Jessica Tandy, who won for "Driving Miss Daisy" was the oldest winner before Sunday's show.

Christopher Palmmer: Portrait of an admirable Canadian Citizen
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001626/bio

“Though he likely always be remembered as "Captain Von Trapp" in the atomic bomb-strength blockbuster The Sound of Music (1965) (a film he publicly despised until softening his stance in his 2008 autobiography "In Spite of Me"), his later film work includes such outstanding performances as the best cinema Sherlock Holmes--other than Basil Rathbone -- in Murder by Decree (1979), the chilling villain in The Silent Partner (1978), his iconoclastic Mike Wallace in The Insider (1999), the empathetic psychiatrist in A Beautiful Mind (2001), and as Leo Tolstoy in The Last Station (2009). It was this last role that finally brought him recognition from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, when he was nominated as Best Actor in a supporting role.

Plummer remains one of the most respected and honored actors performing in the English language. He's won two Emmy Awards out of six nominations stretching 46 years from 1959 and 2005, and one Genie Award in five nominations from 1980 to 2004. For his stage work, Plummer has racked up two Tony Awards on six nominations, the first in 1974 as Best Actor (Musical) for the title role in "Cyrano" and the second in 1997, as Best Actor (Play), in "Barrymore".

Surprisingly, he did not win (though he was nominated) for his masterful 2004 performance of "King Lear", which he originated at the Stratford Festival in Ontario and brought down to Broadway for a sold-out run. His other Tony nominations show the wide range of his talent, from a 1959 nod for the Elia Kazan-directed production of Macleish's "J.B." to recognition in 1994 for Harold Pinter's "No Man's Land", with a 1982 Best Actor (Play) nomination for his "Iago" in William Shakespeare's "Othello".

He continues to be a very in-demand character actor in prestigious motion pictures. If he were English rather than Canadian (he is the great-grandson of Sir John Abbott, the third Prime Minister of Canada) he'd have been knighted long ago. (In 1968, he was a made a Companion of the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian honor and one which requires the approval of the sovereign). If he lived in the company town of Los Angeles, he likely would have several more Oscar nominations to go with the one for "The Last Station."

As it is, as attested to in his witty and well-written autobiography, Christopher Plummer has been amply rewarded in life. In 1970, Plummer - a self-confessed 43-year-old "bottle baby" - married his third wife, dancer Elaine Taylor, who helped wean him off his dependency on alcohol. They live happily with their dogs on a 30-acre estate in Weston, Connecticut and, although he spends the majority of his time in the United States, he remains a Canadian citizen[/b].”

Hi there,

I have a question regarding my application for PhD stream. I sent my documents on late January and they have deducted money from my banking account on Feb 21st. Today when I'm checking my bank account again I see that they have credited my account again. Why is that happening? Is there any idea about why did they do it?

thanks

Qorax,

Can you help on the below.

It is very natural, we can expect lot of errors in our e-case as the NDVO is processing all the application in rush. (I am not sure, till what stage this rush will continue)
There are people who got In Process with date 3months ago but no one got any update or medicals request yet.
I guess NDVO has planned some schedule for entire MI-1 applications and they are strictly working on that(we can see that on mass In Process with dates status updates), only NDVO or Canadian Registered Consultants can provide more clarity on Medical Request or updates.
I am sure there are few people applied for CAIPS after their e-case updated to “In Process” with date, I request if you all can share details of the same.
