Hi dear captan qorex,,,,,
I am a pre june 2010 applicant of the London vo. NOC 4131,college lecturer
My status is RBVO ,2nd AOR received in April 2011,
In the mean time I am planning to look for some new profession as i am interested in the areas like Nursing and welding,I want to get canadian education in one of these professions,my questions are
1  can i apply for student visa while my immigration case is on its way to be decided as yet?
2  At this stage can I get a professional education in Nursing/welding despite having Masters in completely different field i.e Education from a pakistani university?My age is 34 at the moment,did my MA in the year 2000.
3  could you plze provide some link for the admission websites of canadian universities/institutes to get admission in my areas of interest?
4 will it delay my immigration case ?
5 what will you personally suggest for me in this regard?

i request your please proivde these details into a diffrent blogs so we can try to make our year budget from india itself...though maket flactuation is vary market to market but basics always helps to peoples to start and think about possive and nagativness

if we are family and starting from base, how much will be cost for rent PM?
As a newcomer, it'd be wise to first rent a basement [rather than going for a condo apartment]. As the rents could vary between locations, I'm providing u a basic price @ most Ok, but desirable locations [not downtown, but not afar as well, and family friendly neighborhoods].

Basements come within:
- $450-550 PM, for a single room, with kitchen, w/room shared.
- $650-800 PM, for an indep 1BHK.
- $750-850 PM, for an indep 2BHK.

Much info on it is provided in my "Jobs, how to Succeed" thread. Nonetheless, u should be prepared to slog-out for 3-6 months w/out a job after 'landing'. U must carry enough funds to survive 1/2 a yr w/out earning. By then u r likely to get at least a 'Survival Job'. I haven't seen anyone slogging thereafter. But, of course, this job won't be enough or satisfying... read more about it below.

In most circumstances, till Grade-10 u'd not require any 'extra efforts' [if 'Pvt. Tuition' is what u meant]. Off course 'Hobby Classes' could be a blow... but, many afford it as well. There r many avenues, summer training/camps, music, dancing etc. which r affordable. U'd need to shop around a bit.

Taxis r omni-present, but could be a killer if u depend on it much. If u reside in downtown & nearby -- the TTC would be enough. Off course, for distant interviews [& other visitation] u might yet need taxis... 'coz, busses might take 1/2 a day to reach. Many do spend an entire lifetime residing @ downtown w/out purchasing a car. But, it is not for everyone... usually one should obtain their DL asap & buy an 'used car' [$2000-5000] within 1-2 months of landing... that makes your life much easier!

Everything is available here... and isn't costing a bomb. Most ethnic grocery shops would have your products.

***But, it's always advisable to change... modify/adjust your lifestyle to the Canadian one -- if this country is to be your home. It's not wise to remain "An Indian in Canada", or a "Korean in Canada", or a "Kenyan in Canada" etc... as soon as u integrate - & be a "Canadian" - the better your prospects'd be. [I'm not purposefully indicating any nationality here... it's just a figure of speech... for Eg. purposes, pls don't take it otherwise. I respect everyone] It is wise to maintain your 'roots', culture, traditions etc. but equally wise to inculcate the Canadian way of life @ the earliest -- if not for u; @ least for your kids' -- they'd have a long inning here... their full lifetime & your further generation/s. U got to be a "Canadian in Canada"... else, this immigration foray would go to waste. Remember, u aren't coming to Canada for a 'job' -- u r here to stay/spend your life... This is an 'error of judgement' many do -- forgetting why they chose to immigrate in the first place. If it is only to "earn the $$$" -- go to Dubai instead !***

I've dwelled on the 'driving' part earlier. But, r u implying "driving a Taxi-Cab" as a 'self-employment' option? It's not a bad option though... there r monies to be made in that vocation... many do it here. Of course, a separate licensing process apply. Besides, there is also enough dough in 'Trucking'... either self-purchased or working for an agency... the hourly pay could go upwards $25 ! Stressful? Yes it is. Do many take this route? Yes, of course.

No, that income won't be sufficient. Starter jobs would usually pay u the 'minimum wages' [$10.25/hr in Toronto]. It'd just bring food to the table. U got to have other savings to manage rents, pay other bills, outing etc. But it is for the initial phase of 'landing & settling'. Anything that could assist u,  get the 'earning' rolling, save the POF from fast depleting, should be welcome, isn't it? Besides, these Survival Jobs get your Canadian Experience counting... that's very important.

Cannot be 100% opined... 'coz much depends on various other factors... and is case specific. However, normally, it should take 2-5 months to get the meds after an ADR [Addnl Docs Request].

2. U can have 'no-contract' SIMs from ChatR &/or City-Fido [they come @ $35/month].

4. Yes, plenty of them r available. U've to shop around to know which is [more] suitable for your country.
5. Bank a/cs r not compulsory, if u don't intend to stay-on much.
6. For CCTB it's a must [bank a/c]. However, if u don't reside here - u aren't authorized the CCTB.
