Hi All

I hav some serious doubts abt the goods list...though Qorax has made it very clear in his post but i hav a few doubts.
1. the goods to follow list: I plan to finish my formalities in Nov and then finally go again in Mar. As far as i know i will hav to list down all the items i want to carry during my travel in Mar. But what if i hav a few more thgs to carry? For ex; do i need to specify the actual number and type of utensils i carry? what if i want to carry more than what i hav specified in the list?
2. Jewelry valuation; is a self valuation sufficient? And if it is not sufficient, can u please tel me more about what is to be done..

Hi, No one at the Customs are  serious about your items while examning or releasing you consignments.
Just take this example for filling the form:

House hold linnen (includes Bed sheets,towels, curtains etc) assorted : 2 doz or one box = value : 120 CAD
Dress assorted ladies : 2 doz : 200 CAD
Shoes and other used dress : One box : 100 CAD
Kichenware and utensils : 2 box : 200 CAD
Jewelry assorted : approx 1500 CAD  ( You can put your own valuation approximately)
If you have any important items list it individually like:,
Computer (PC)
Music systems
Laptop
Videocam
Digital Camera ( small one's can be excluded)
Major elctrical appliances.

But don't buy such items new while coming to Canada because you can get it from here itself good quality and cheaper.If you have good ones alrady in use you may bring. It should be plugged to 110V power outlet and should have straight blade or adapter.

So, go on making the list as a group instead of listing one by one.

does that mean that i dont hav to make separate excel for the goods.

and for jewels; i need to take pics, make to copies, list it down and the SELF value it. Am i correct? And do i list the ones i am wearing as well?

What abt medicines, do i need to mention them as well.

This Goods list is really confusing...please help
