not exactly this forum, but not sure where to post it....

I am under a removal order for overstay.

I am applying for PRRA - being irish, slim chance though.
My grounds are
a) cruel and unusual treatment - being separated from my children for a year, and will cost me about 3k to see them, as i will have to fly them to Ireland, plus their mother.
b) i am in AA and sending me back to Ireland (a massive drinking culture), could be fatal for an alcholic
c) i am diabetic (T2), and Ontario is a world leader in management of diabetes.
long shot i know, but what do ye reckonÉ
thanks

Did they give you a removal order or a exclusion order?
Normal it would be a exclusion order when you just overstayed.

I assume that you have a wife in canada.
Did you ever go for a spouse sponser ship aplication?

hmmmm so you were kinda bad in Canada.
i dont want to know the reason, but i think you out of luck for a while.

When you have a removal order its hard to get back into Canada in a regular way.

Looks like the PRRA is your last bet.

My wife has no status here in Canada and we were wondering about removal orders. We believe the cbsa may be onto her but how will we know? We are in the midst of getting all the documents sorted for outland spousal sponsorship.

Why do you think they are onto her?

Don't mean to scare you, but if they are, get ready - have a lawyer's number on a piece of paper with some important numbers.  You can only make collect calls in detention.  Also, they only fax your embassy about your detention, so have that handy too.

Having a restoration of status makes no difference to these guys, i had one in the pile and they didn't care.

Good luck

We think they are onto her because the RCMP came to where I work and asked me her name. This happened about 2 months ago and we still haven't heard anything. Tried to hire a lawyer but the expense was too great. We live in a very small town way up in the north. We are very scared and just don't know what to expect...

Go to the local courthouse, see if you can see a duty counsel and if they will give you a purple sheet of paper for legal aid.

No idea why it was RCMP, with me it was all CBSA

Can't get legal aid, already tried that route. We're thinking someone rang up the local cops and reported her and they were getting in touch with CBSA. All I know for sure is that I have a very stressed out wife and neither of us knows which way to turn.
