In my opinion,
NO.

Provident fund cannot be removed when you need it.

Though wait for other's advise..

Yes, it will counted as a liquid assests. so you will be OK if u have shown it as a POF.

Since it can be withdraw anytime by showing reason & it will be credited to your individual account as soon as you leave the organization so no need to worry. Smiley

Interesting....Really is that the case?

Can you please give an example of any case that did this and had it accepted.
Thanks

No , your view is not correct because we require liquid assets which will be encashed at anytime when required so all investment/ savings are accepted like MF, ULIP, Cash in Bank account, FD, savings in post, PF, PPF all are accepted...

And yes I am the peron whose all these above details as POF were accepted.. Don' misguide others....

Hi - since there seems to be heavily divided opinion on this, can I suggest you contact CHC New Delhi and get them to officially confirm if this will be acceptable or not?

This way, if you then apply and they fail you for it you can provide their correspondence proving that they informed you it was acceptable, and you'd then at least have some grounds for appeal. Just thinking of the worst case scenario of course, but in my experience it pays to be as prudent as possible.

Best of luck with your application,
Wayne.

Dear..what ever belongs to u and in your name can be declared as POF except mentioned on CHC website. But only problem with this kind of account is that u can not prove unless employer confirms it as in some comapanies, in certain situations, contribution is only by of book entry and no physical movement. Further there is no dedicated account for an individual in any Bank for provident funds / Gratuities rather joint account for all employees /  contributors.

U need to prove it by way of formal document that yr company owes xxx amount to u otherwise problem.

Well this is some interesting information.
I guess if everyone gets through (as Provident Fund being POF), this would serve as a guide.

There is a whole provident fund office in India
and your PF number is written in your salary slip and we also get a statement yearly.
So it won't be difficult to prove that the amount is his.

Not to mention that the OP is a govt employee in India so he won't face such problems.

I never knew that PF can be considered as Proof of funds, cos you cannot withdraw it whenever you need it.

Just like gold/real estate. It takes around 6 yo 8 months to get the PF amount once u leave the job.

But if people have applied than it may be acceptable.
