I think about CAD 100000 for any mishappening or sudden serious illness. Their is not much difference in premium between coverage of CAD 50000 and CAD 100000.

Qorax and I stay very closeby, you can meet both of us together. You can join the new immigrants group also to meet other immigrants. I think Rocky is in Vancouver, quite far from Toronto where you are landing.
