hi, i am not sure if my post was read so here it goes. How do we have a strong proof on the seriousness of the relationship? I have marriage certificate, wedding pictures, pictures of our visit to each other, emails and conversations in facebook and skype. Are those enough to have a strong proof of how serious and real our relationship is considering that we met online?

i don't know their criteria on how they assess if the relationship is genuine, but i think that would be enough proofs Smiley

good luck and god bless!

Well, that's basically what we sent in as well. I sent emails, pics b4 and after marriage, pics of us n my children with my husband during visits to him, marriage cert. Wedding pics, some telephone bills, and we put in 4 letters of reference from our friends/family. So I hope its enough! Just gather as much of that type of evidence. You seem to be on the right track.

For our proof of relationship, we are sending the following:

- Proof of joint bank account
- Copies of stamps in our passports where we travelled to places together
- Photos of us on special events with friends and family
- List of friends and family who have met us as a couple and can verify our relationship
- Airplane tickets and hotel reservations with both our names on them
- Screen print of facebook relationship
- Copies of mail sent to both of us together
- A relationship timeline from the day we met

The following are key elements that officers may use to establish whether a couple is in a conjugal
relationship. These apply to spouses, common-law partners and conjugal partners.

a) Mutual commitment to a shared life to the exclusion of all other conjugal relationships
A conjugal relationship is characterized by mutual commitment, exclusivity, and interdependence

b) Interdependent – physically, emotionally, financially, socially
The two individuals in a conjugal relationship are interdependent – they have combined their
affairs both economically and socially. The assessment of whether two individuals are in a
conjugal relationship should focus on evidence of interdependency.

Examples of evidence of the interdependence is found on p. 21

Pretty much this whole list. In our case, we also submitted things like copies of our wedding invitations and wedding booklets, contracts and receipts for the wedding and engagement ceremonies, airplane tickets for my parents and sister who attended our wedding in Vietnam, receipts from Western Union (i.e. me sending money to support her on a regular basis), and so on. Like Allison said, look at those two key elements and decide what proof you have on hand that would help prove without a doubt that those elements are present. The more the better!

what the others said + other examples could be:
- sms logs from ur mobile phones, phone bills
- gift receipts for each other, receipts from outings u had together, ticket stubs from concert, movie, etc
- testimonials from friends/families - they should b from both sides (these r not required for married couples but they don't hurt; on the other hand for common-law they r required and they have to be notarized)
- engagement pictures, party, invitations
- relationship history (essay) from both u and ur sponsor

read old posts from here (search for love_young and her toc) and also the manuals Allison said and take ur time!!! Smiley good luck!
