Dear All,

Please advise me about what is the best way to show as Proof of Landing Funds at the Port of Entry, is it a bank statement, Cash, Traveller's Cheque or Bank draft.

My second question is How we can open an account in SCOTIABANK from India.

Thanks in advance.

It could be in the form of Cash, DD or TT. Best option is TT if u wish to encash and built up your account balance in Canada. DD will take approx. 21 working days to credit whereas TT is no issue.

Why do u need to open an account in India. It is the matter of half hour only for opening bank account in Canada. After landing, visit service canada for SIN, go to bank and open account. Both activities can hardly be done in one hour.

gud luk

Hi, I also have a question about the POF to be presented to the IO upon arrival. For example, the requirement for my settlement fund is $11k..I'll be bringing around 2k in cash then 4k in bank draft, then the remaining 5k is in my bank book that could easily be withdrawn..is that okay? Or does the sum of the cash + draft total 11k?

If bank book means bank statement of a non canadian bank, not acceptable. U better convert all liquid funds into either cash, DD or TC. Any other form is not acceptable.

They ask hw much money are you carrying?

But do they ask if you have 20,000 $ to support a 4-member family?

Hi, from your family members along with you, they know how much minimum funds you have to bring along with you.

So they straightly ask you the total amount your are bringing along with you.

I mean there is a difference between telling you hey u have 4 members in ur family u must have 21k to enter canada and declaring how much money i carry when i get in.

I asked in the embassy they said no body will ask u to have a specific amount at the port of entry neither i find any proof fom cic website.

If anybody has a proof ( official one not just a respected forum member suggesting what to carry) pls qoute the link, plssss

Even on the papers received from the cic london no mention of proof to have a specific minimum quantity.
