Yes, they can be in any one of the family member's name, either jointly held of singularly. Also, u could demonstrate POF with multiple a/cs or products under different names (within the family). It's not necessary  that it should be maintained in the name of the PA. Nothing under PA's name is also fine.

Qorax what do you mean by 2nd AOR?

One more question: Do we need to get our credentials assessed for non regulated occupations at the time of application and where can i confirm from that the my occupation falls under the non regulated category?

Good question...

-2nd AOR: When the IO assesses ur file & finds u eligible for further processing, s/he sends u a letter.
-Regulated Occupations: http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/content_pieces-eng.do?cid=723
-Credentials Assessment: http://www.cicic.ca/415/credential-assessment-services.canada

Good luck.

Dear Qorax

I am going to Canada in june with my wife & son. Is it mandatory to show 17000 dollars to IO at entry port or can i carry lesser amount & then transfer the remaining amount to canada if whenever required.
Many people share that they got entry even with lesser amount & IO did not denied them from entry. There is total confusion on this front.

Can anyboby help by sharing his experience.

Regards

Thanks Qorax. Are you sure about the fact that if funds are not in primary applicant's name it is not a problem if I am applying from India as I also came across contradictory opinion on the blog

Can you please tell me if transcripts are compulsory or will mark sheets and degree certificates be sufficient?
