Hello Qorax Thanks for all your help. I landed on Thursday I do have one concern regarding the money I brought in. I ticked on my customs form that I am bringing in more than $10000 CAD. I didn't fill any other forms like E667. Did I do it wrong? It was a personal cheque greater than $10000. I didn't bring in any other money. I did tell the immigration officer. The CBSA officer who did my goods to follow could also see that I had ticked greater than $10000 on my form, but he didn't ask me to fill in any other forms. Should I have declared this amount in a different way? Thanks.

Yes, if u pre-open a Scotiabank a/c from your homeland -- their statement is enough to satisfy the BSO @ A/port. TCs could be encashed on-the-spot... but they accrue dual charges usually @ both ends. Bank Draft is a better/wiser/"safer" option, however u should be prepared for the wait times & have some ready 'cash'. They could take around 7-10 days [though mine always get credited with 48 hrs.].

Hi Qorax,
Captain, I need your advice....
I'm living in Melbourne and planning to electronically transfer my all Australian funds to Scotiabank...so that i can have statement after 1 month....then after landing back to home country (Delhi, India), break all my past saving which is in India in two forms:
1st make a bank cheque which i will deposit in mine Canadian bank after landing Canada.
2nd convert rest half savings to canadian $$$ and take as cash to prove Landing Funds.
So when i land I can have Proof of 'Landing Funds' in all three formats.....
Is I'm making things complicated?

If you are doing this in order to have all three formats for PoF, then it sounds complicated. If you are doing this because it is the most convenient way for you to get money into Canada, then it is okay.

your POF is not enough at the landing time. you must have to show enough POF for 4 people to IO @ POE. in this scenario your brother will help you is not enough reason for POF (this is not valid reason to prove enough POF). yes if you have job offer by your employer HRSDC approved than you can use that as POF. please read more : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.aspfor 4 people POF should be : $20,654 (CAD dollars CASH/TC/Bandk Draft on your/spouse name or Canadian bank statement should be yours/your spouse .... your Brother or other relatives canadian bank statement is "NOT accepted for POF ) at the landing time. Hi - I agree with OMM. Assuming you are FSW Cat 1, you must have your OWN unencumbered funds of at least the minimum amount ($20,000 CAD+) to show at point of entry. This amount cannot be borrowed from your brother. How did you prove your funds with your application? Or have you since spent some of the funding? Anyway you will not be able to land until you have saved at least the minimum required funding - unless you want to "risk it" and hope the immigration officer does not ask to see proof of funds. But it will be a very long and expensive trip if they do and you are turned away. Wayne,

Absolutely Correct Wayne. it's high risk of travel without sufficient funds which required to finish your landing process.

Dear OMM
As POF, I am taking CAD3000 in cash and rest of CAD14000 to be shown in ScotiaBank account statement. SHOULD I tick "Funds more than $10000" OR NOT. BCOZ in-hand money is only CAD3000
Thanks
Rajeev
