Hi qorax

I am planning to take 2500 Canadian dollars in cash and a demand draft of 9000 CAD from HDCF bank, in my name, upon my landing. Can you suggest me if its ok? There is a limit of indian currency exchange here in india. Bank says it can give currency equivalent to only US $3000. So I am planning to take the funds as mentioned above.

thanx

Hi,

I am planing to complete the landing process in may 2012 and then return to my resident country. Do I need to carry $11000 at the time of landing because I dont want to loose in coversion and surely do not want to transfer money to Canada just yet as I will not move to Canada until at least the end of the year.

Thanks

U r required to demonstrate the "complete" POF in Cash, Draft/s &/or TCs in the POE.
If u r unable to do that, for whatever reason/s, carry as much as u can - AND pls take a 'certified' Bank Statement showing the availability of rest, in any currency, wherever in  the world.

Yes, provided u r carrying to the max possible already.
This is just a way around when things r sheer impossible for u due to regulating reasons.

Hi Rubiya,

I just read your post about the requirement of POF for a family of 4......actually the funds required is CAD $20,654 and not $19000 CAD.

hi guys...quick question. the table stating the amounts neded to show at landing are for people who applied directly at the federal level only? I'm a QPNP and the contract of self sufficiency I signed at the time of application for quebec certificate showed lesser amounts...see for yourself by clicking on the link below. So, will showing the contract I originally signed and the according amounts in my possession be enough or do i actually have to align with federal guidelines? thank you for your input.
