FD also accepted. VO will ask for FD details from bank with FD certificate.
so he can apply with FD certificate + bank statment, it's ok if his bank account is not much old but have to prove that money is your friends money and its not loan or not debt (if it's few amount doesnt matter becasue other funds covered in FD, FD you can encash easily).

Thanks, but rememebr bank account staement if s/he have with small amount & rest of moeny on his/her account or on dependends account also accepted (as mentioned previous post that you have to prove that money is 100% yours, thats it, that's not debt or loan or you not get it from any financer on interest. just prove this on document from Bank, then you are on safe zone for POF. Keep in mind this status you have to maintain upto you got the VISA + you have carry fund for you + number of dependents  @  landing time) : Cheers
