Proof of fund

I will appreciate if some body could respond, specially those who have recenlty crossed this step.

Is it possible to present Company funds / retirement benefits as valid and acceptable proof of fund or CIC only considers bank statement as valid proof of fund. Normally good companies offer such benefits to the employees which are available at the time of quiting or retirement.

Bank statement, bonds, travelers cheques, funds must be unencumbered.
