As per the CIC guide line funds must be liquid assets. Like Bank Balance / Fixed Deposit ..

Go through guideline,,,

Yes agreed. I've seen friends submitted property valuations report, duly notarized, as POF. as mentioned in other threads, some members think that some VO's accept it while others don't.

Make it available and hope it works.

Good luck

Hi,

" some members think that some VO's accept it while others don't " yes it is true

"Funds
Indicate the amount (in Canadian dollars) of unencumbered, transferable and available funds that you have. This amount can include the value of any property that you own, but should not include jewellery, cars or other personal assets."

I copied and Pasted from Instruction Guide [IMM EG7000] and this under the Heading Funds on page 30. Link www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

Thanks

I advised you to post your query to Pakistan forum. As there is separate instruction on it.

You will get better answer from there.

Mayank

Hi Mayankpandya,

I am not sure, So Instructions available over the Canada immigration Website can also have different versions depending on the VO across the world.
like VO Delhi have different Instruction Guide than VO London.

Thanks
Candreamz.

Following is the email i recieved from London Visa office on my general inquiry related to accepting property evaluation as POF.

Thank you for your enquiry.

In support of your application, you should provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible

currency that is available to you for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):

• current bank certification letter; or

• evidence of savings balance; or

• fixed or time deposit statements.

Before approving an application, the immigration officer must be satisfied that you have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family when you first arrive in Canada. The Government of Canada does not provide financial support to new skilled worker immigrants.

When first arriving in Canada as a permanent resident you will also need to show immigration officials at the port of entry that you have sufficient transferable funds for your settlement in Canada.

You can show bank statements or saving statements or value of your property after the repayment of your mortgage.

If you have been offered a job or if you are going to work in Canada on a temporary work permit you may present proof of your salary.

Yours sincerely,

Thanks haral for sharing this email. It will definitely clear so many doubts.

Now, property evaluations are accepted. Awesome.

Cheers

Mezo

Hi to all,
I have this Euro-Bond investment for proof of funds. It will mature by 2011 September 15. The value is more than the amount of funds i am suppose to show as proof of funds for 2 persons.

In my Caips notes  the visa officer still wanted a bank statement for 6 months. What if i show the Euro Bond investment which the value is more than the normal amount, i am suppose to show and also a bank statement for 6 months from my account.  I am presently using my salary  for business in my home country, since i know i have this fixed money to  show any time the will ask me. So the money in my account will not be much, it will be like half of the required amount.

My account is also so active now since i am transferring money to my home country for investments.  Hope they will not ask me why i keep sending money now and then.

They have not requested yet still waiting.

Please advice me.

Thanks waiting.

I don't see why not. As long as these bonds are maturing before your landing then it should be fine. The VO might argue that it has to ready liquidible and transferrable without limitation, however if it's proven that no landing will occur before sept 2011, then they have to accept. I can't imagine why not.

Hi Mezo2009,
This is February 2011 and at the moment i do not have any medicals or have been assessed yet. It shows that i might not have the visa before that Date. So i think i should wait for their correspondence still waiting.

There is all evidence that i will not be landing in 2011. So i think it should be fine.  I just hope he understands.

Thanks
