PROMOTION for semi- skilled PNP•Employer-Driven Stream

HI everyone just have one question regarding PNP.

i have a friend who is been nominated under PNP SEMI SKILLED EMPLOYER - DRIVEN STREAM.
He is working as a service crew and nominated under semi skilled category for PNP by his company, he still waiting for his certificate .

His employer is planning to promote him as a Supervisor.Is that ok or it will negatively impact his
application as a semi skilled worker?
