Can someone explain what dates each of these refer to. I don't understand some of the short forms.

Pre-Assessed..:
Check if pre-assessed.

App. Filed.......:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

Doc's Request.:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

Nomination.....:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

AOR Received.:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

IELTS Request:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

File Transfer...:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

Med's Request:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

Med's Done....:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY

Is the application filed date the day you mailed it? Don't you have to have the medical assessment done before you send the application? What does Med's request mean? I also don't understand the nomination one, does this refer to the sponsor being accepted? What does IELTS stand for? Also does File transfer mean when Canada send the application to Berlin (in our case).

Thanks for any help SmileySmileySmiley

Pre-Assessed..:
Check if pre-assessed. - Not sure.

App. Filed.......:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - When did CIC receive your application?

Doc's Request.:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - If you got a letter to do a medical exam, what date was on it?

Nomination.....:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - Probably for the Provincial Nominees Programs.

AOR Received.:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - Approval in principle. Your application is approved, but it needs to be finalized by a landing interview.

IELTS Request:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - Something for the skilled workers program, as far as I know.

File Transfer...:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - When did CIC transfer your application to a local office?

Med's Request:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - If you got a letter to do a medical exam, what date was on it?

Med's Done....:
Enter Date: DD-MM-YYYY - On what date did you do your exam?

Is the application filed date the day you mailed it? - Literally yes, but I think it's better to use the day that CIC received it.

Don't you have to have the medical assessment done before you send the application? - Not neccesarily. I didn't do them up front, I'll do them this week, without a request letter, but my application was sent in October. Some people choose to wait to make sure the results don't expire.

What does Med's request mean? - I suppose Request for Medical Exam. I don't know the difference between the Doc's request and the Med's request.

I also don't understand the nomination one, does this refer to the sponsor being accepted? - Probably not for the sponsorship program.

What does IELTS stand for? - First hit on Google: International English Language Testing System. It's a language test. This isn't necessary for sponsorship applications.

Also does File transfer mean when Canada send the application to Berlin (in our case). - Yes!

Thanks for any help SmileySmileySmiley

'Doc's request' does not mean 'doctor', it means 'documents'.

'Med's request' is referring to when the visa office asks you to get the medical done. For outland spousal applications, you are supposed to get the medical done before you send the application to Mississauga, so this doesn't apply to you - unless your processing takes more than a year and the visa office wants a new medical. But for some categories of immigrants - such as sponsored parents, FSWs, and I guess inland spousal applicants - the applicant does not do the medical before the application is sent - he/she waits for the visa office to request one.
The sidebar is the same for all types of immigrants on this forum, but some will not apply to certain immigrants.

IELTS is International English Language Testing System. Some classes of immigrants must prove they know English (or French), so take this test. Spousal applicants don't need it.

before for quebec federal skill worker u could have done a pre-assessment of ur file without paying; if they believed u had the points &a good chance they would tell u and then u would file the whole application; maybe some provinces still do this, maybe some people r still in process following that procedure

doc's request usually refers to additional documents, extra forms to complete by specific offices, etc

many of those fields r not for family class

Also AOR is NOT Approval in Principle.  AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt, a form letter sent by visa offices to Outland applicants to let them know that the embassy has received the application, inform them of their file number, advise if they require any additional documents at this time and how long the processing is expected to take.

AIP = Approval In Principle, which is sent to Inland applicants advising them that they have met the requirements for PR, and they will be scheduled at some point in the future for a landing interview.
