quick question

im from the UK and have a canadian wife.  I sent my application in August to extend my work permit (expired august 15th) and at the same time, my application for permanent residency with her as my sponsor.  i know the permanent residency can take over a year, but I just wanted to know if the extension comes back before they decide about the permanent residency, and if so, how long does it usually take?  I'm looking to get a new job but cant as the current work permit in my visa has expired and im working on implied status.

im hoping it takes about 4 months, which means they should be making a decision early in the new year. any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Did you apply for a new BUNAC or did you apply to extend your work permit through an approved LMO? (Or did you apply for something else?)

As for sponsorship - Are you applying for PR inland or outland?

PR is inland, i know it takes around a year or so for that to go through

i had applied to extend my current visa (through bunac) then realised after i sent everything in that i couldnt extend it! i called immigration and asked about it, they said they'll look at it during the application, i was just worried that i would have to leave the country right away.....so i guess i'll see what they say. i just hope they make a decision by january because my return flight is for mid january and dont want to lose that if i have to leave
