Hi All,
thought i would start a new thread where people can just update when they receive their LMO decision so others can get an idea of the time frame. It is so frustrating waiting, it will be nice to hear when other people are getting theirs and when they actually applied.
It is actually my boyfriend waiting for the LMO. His employer intially tried for the LMO (never done it before) and it was rejected due to not being completed properly etc, so we have now hired a lawyer. The week before Christmas, she advised us that "service canada will likely continue to be extremely 'bogged down' into the new year", but then said they expect a decision the week of January 9th. We still haven't heard. His Application was submitted on November 1, 2011.
Whats everyone else's time line looking like?

Hello!
Yes I am under the same employer (been working for his company for almost 3 years)...and yes they phoned my employer...
I think the SC officer just asked if he wants to change the duration of my work... because originally, the contract is only 12 months, my boss changed it to 24 months... though I really put on my contract 12 months... (I was the one who typed everything bcoz he was busy).
My SC office is in Edmonton... I was expecting them to maybe give me positive LMO after 10 or 12 months but surprisingly they approved me after like 6 weeks... it also depends upon the Officer who is looking after your papers....

10-12 months! You're not in hurry to start working eh 6 weeks is not too bad. Hope HRSDC works on LMO applications faster than what they are doing now- 12 weeks, that sucks Hello!

Hi Laurenhannah, My app was received Nov 8th and the SC told us mid-Dec that things should be wrapped up for us by the first week on January. But they never contacted us! My employer had to call them up and they told him on Wednesday (Jan 17th) that they currently processing apps received Oct 25th -Nov 1st. So hopefully that's the case. Let me know when you'll receive your LMO. However I am a little bit uncertain if SC staff tells 100% the truth cause someone else posted that he/ she was told they work on the files up to Oct 20th. In short I am going into my 12th week of waiting....frustrating!!!!!!!!!

When we say SC is processing these dates then does it mean all SC centers are processing those dates as i think there are many centers where one can submit LMO application isnt it?
Also Is it true that number of LMOs filed are normally less in November and December as compared to summer.

Different SC centres have different processing times. Alberta is a few weeks faster than BC right now but not much. I just received an LMO that I applied for on behalf of an employer in BC at the end of September. It arrived last Friday. 14 weeks in total.

Our lawyer called Service Canada (Toronto Office) and they said my boyfriends application (which was sent in on Nov 2) would be processed within 2 weeks. The lawyer then received a called a couple of hours later from SC asking for some more info. So i think it must be processing, and hopefully be done within 2 weeks ish.
The wait is HORRID!!!
