Around 9-12 months maximum. In some cases it might take even 6-8 months.

Currently it takes about 12-18 months normally. It may be more than that.

Experts DO EXPLAIN,

For intial application the fee for two is 550+550$C. FEE For full documents sent is 490+490$C=980$C.I SENT 1000$C.20$C more , just to use a round figure.
I have received a 2nd AOR ; a letter and a receipt of Canadian dollars withdrawn. This receipt shows 550$C each for two of us.
I am worried, why its shows 550+550=1100$C.Though i have already sent 1100$C with initial aplication .How come 1100 is the right figure for two persons for 2ND AOR Shocked Shocked Shocked ShockedHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

U r being confused between the 2 type of Fees.
1. Processing Fees = Ca$550/each
2. RPRF = Ca$490/each

U pay the processing fees with your application - for processing your case. It's paid in the very 1st stage, which u did. It's a non-refundable charge by the CIC, for their services.

The RPRF is for getting the COPR - aka case is completed, prior to visa issuance. U may pay it upfront, but it's not required... U get a separate request for it from the CHC, usually alongwith the Medicals. If u don't make it (God Forbid!) - that fees will be refunded to u.

The receipt u got is for the Processing Fees only. They'd hold-on to your RPRF draft, until your case shows a positive conclusion. Once that's done, & your draft is yet valid, they'd deposit it & upon it's realization, u'd get it's recipt (sometime may not too - I didn't).
