Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Ahh he gets here next week.. Well it sounds like ur about to get the visa Watnxt.. the medicals expiring is the biggest worry that everyone has right now. but no way can we do anything about it. yes i do see all the new members.. the numbers are starting to add up!!

watnext, i think u will get the visa a few weeks after ur submision , i got mine after 3 weeks.


Now i have to start with our new life. today my hubby will be going to apply for his SIN, OHIP, and Open a new bank account.. another hassle lol

When did your status changed to "In process". I am waiting for that status change. And wondering how long it will take to get visa from status change.

Can you apply for OHIP this early? I thought we have to provide a letter with living address to get OHIP. Letters something from bank or any other invoice bill.

Hiya,

I had applied for spousal visa in mid Feb, 2011 with all the required documents including the police clearance and medical check-up. And in late March, they asked me to submit few missing documents - precisely missing signs on few forms. Now, my wife is given a date for an interview next week.

According to some folks I talked, they say when they call for an interview, they would give visa on the same day or in the following weeks. And in some cases, they give visa without any interviews.

Anyone has any idea for how long it would take for giving visa after the interview process?

Yes, some ppl got visa on same day. It happend to one of our member,Shif, last week. Her man got visa on same day. Good luck with ur inveterview. Hope all goes good.
Which visa office are you dealing with? Is it Colombo? It is nice to see that ppl get interview in short time.

Well, Mississauga process your sponsorship application. Canadian visa office at Your partners' home country is the one process PR stuff. Are you from Sri lanka? If you r so then your visa office is Colombo

Mell i did not get a call from embassy until 21 of june, then i hope that i need to go to embassy for inquires( as my sister in law got visa - same time line for me) then on Wednesday ( 22 june ) early in the morning i went to embassy. it was around 7.00 am when i went there. there was only one Tamil girl in the queue , i was the second. after that they call for the person who came for interview and passport submission . there were not any one there for them. everyone for inquires . then they were going to start inquires session.  and i took the phone going to switch off, , before that i got call from CANEmbassy ( i saved it ) . then one of lady officer called me and asked , you'r medical going to expire on 28 of june, can you fly before that if you got visa, then i told yes definitely i can book a ticket and fly before that. then i left the queue , and then she told ok can you bring you'r passport today at around 10.30-12.30, then i told yes i can bring it . then i stay there until around 11 ( it was 10 when i got call ) and submit the passport, they told come arount 3.30 for collection.
                 fortunately my brother in law booked a ticket also for me  when he booked a ticket for her wife. then we fly on Saturday (25) morning, and i did not have enough time to ready because they told we have to be in canada before 28.

sorry watnxt for late update. we was in Ajax when i came to here, my father in law bought a another home in Oshawa as it is near to my wife work place. then we have to move form there, and we went to Niagara fall and few occasion , then that is y i couldn't use internet and update this forum
