Suganya, I am not sure about ur time line...for me and T7 it took almost 8 1/2 month for colombo to give visa. Total of 10 months from when we applied here in Mississauga office.

It looks like u will get good news in a week or two....Ofcourse i am not the officer...but for most of the ppl i know took them closed to 9 1/2 months to get visa recently. It is also depend on how u came here. As I noticed..if u were sponsored by some here and now u r sponsoring someone...then it takes them 8 1/2 months or so....these are from my opserversion.

Hey guys. How are you all?
Rathika and Suganya, my wife was granted the visa 2 weeks before the med was about to expire. Rathika, it looks like u might have to wait another week. Just keep the phone line open between 9-4.

Suganya, how is SL? Are you in Colombo?  I hope you are having a good time. I am sure you will get some positive results. When are you coming back to Canada? I hope you cons back together with your husband.

Watnxt, thanks bro. So how is life? Looks like your busy nowadays...anyway, have a great time. Enjoy to the MAX.

Mel, what's happening? Is your husband still here in Toronto? How does he like the country?

Lol.. Watnxt is learning how to report to the boss. u know dude, like it or not, we women call the shots in a marriage generally Smiley

T7-Yeah he's still here.. he's liking it. I'm glad that he's gotten used to it so that once he gets the PR, it will be easier to get a job and settle in.

Rathika and Suganya - Hang in. I'm sure u will get the visa soon Smiley Hey at least ur not waiting around for your re-medicals like we are! So consider urself lucky in that way. Don't panic until the meds expire...

Hey guys ,
Im not an active member, but i have been following this thread for a while now. I thought i share my time line, so some of you can get an idea of how long your processing time might take.

Colombo Received my application on Jan 17 2011
It changed to In Process, just over 3 weeks ago.
A Few weeks before it changed to in process, they ask for more supporting documents pertaining to or relationship. ie photos , cards, letters. phone records, money transfers.

We received a call from our lawyer yesterday asking us to go pick up the visa as it is ready.  ( the lawyer only helped us fill out the application ). My wife went on Thursday morning and got the visa.

She has to be in Canada by November 3, ( i think thats when her medical expires)

So as everyone has predicted the time line is around 8 months.

Hope this help.

Wish you guys best of luck

Hi
I'm a silent observer of this forum. It has been 6 months since I sent in application. I would like to now go to the Colombo embassy to ask for status of my file. Can anyone tell me how the process is to inquire? What time must I be there? Is there a limit to the number of inquiries they allow? Please let me know.

Thanks to all of you who have provided information on this forum. It has been very helpful!
