The processing time for 80% of spousal applicants in Bogota is 17 months, so you have a ways to go yet.  You don't have to do anything other than wait for a request for more documents, or an interview or a passport request.

Anyone who applied at 2007 from Colombia? it would be great to know if someone got a visa... I'm in the waiting boat for 5 years and I'm started to wonder if the embassy is working on the FSW applications or they're dropping the applications to a garbage can.

Hello. I applied on August 25th 2011, received the confirmation letter from FSW Central intake office on November 2011. The letter informed us that the process had begun and that they will send the application to the visa office (Bogota). That was about it so far. We are waiting for the following communication (interview, medical request, etc). Is anyone else in the same situation? I have read other forums from india mainly and many people have received medical request and passport request on Febuary 2012. Best Regards.

I applied for my spouse who is from Ecuador on Dec 28, 2011. Got my approval on Feb 14, 2012 for the first part and the papers have been sent to Bogota. Looks like its a long way to go from here. Can't understand why it takes so long for Bogota, there don't seem to be that many application as compared to India or China?

Yes that is right. I am sure that there are more applicants in India but it seems that their embassy is way faster in ther response. I guess there is no other choice but to wait patiently. Regards.

Is there a way to wake up the embassy? I think they're in a cave in a very long hibernation state... I got some interesting data from the cic page where you could see that only 28 cases were processed during the last year... amazing... 28 cases is like a turtle working in a desert.

http://colombianosalcanada.lefora.com/2009/08/18/personas-que-apadrinadas-que-esperan-sus-papeles/page298/

Bendiciones.
