CVV number is not asked by CIO on the form. As for the banks, its not compulsory for merchants to give CVV no. Thats the only number protecting the privacy of your card. Therefore, as for merchants, I don't believe CVV number is not required at all.

Moreover, the bank said authorization code not CVV. I am assuming that its not the same. Moreover, if you notice the CIO form there is a column for 'Authorization code' and which is for official use only. I am sure this has nothing to do with the credit card transaction.

You definitely need to check with the bank about the policy of international transactions. Why it was declined. There has to and I repeat has to be a problem from the banks side. I am afraid this can result in the rejection of the application. But I believe this is the case for post-June 26 application.

The only solution I can think of is two fold, that is targetting both sides:

1) CIO: You have sent the CVV number to CIO for the same credit card. Assuming that the initial problem is from the bank's side, therefore ur sending the CVV will not help. I would suggest getting a draft ASAP and sending it to CIO. Of course, seniors would have a better opinion.
2) Bank: Don't just talk to the call-center folks, email and talking to a senior person in ur bank is what is required. These guys are talented in giving very very unique answers to customers. Write emails, visit the bank if required and get to the bottom of what the problem. If they are saying that the problem is authorization code. Then what is authorization code, are they talking about CVV or are they talking about the authorization code of the merchant (each merchant has their authorization code). If its the latter then its CIO's fault and therefore contact them ASAP via email about the situation and stating the fact that ur sending a draft. Show some committment towards Canada.

Seniors please advice if my opinion is fine.

Hi

I totally agree with you and thats what i said at the first that its the bank not the CIC.

Cheers

For avoidance of doubt, an authorization code is a 5 or 6 numerical or alphanumerical code sent directly by a credit card issuer or issuing bank that is uniquely ascribed to a sales transaction as verification that the completed sale has been authorized.  During the time of sale, it is always returned by the credit card issuing bank in the form of an electronic message sent to a merchant's Point Of Sale (POS) equipment that indicates approval or denial of the transaction.  So check with your bank as to what had happened.

I have sent fax to CIO number but no response.
Should I wait or send one more fax if it works or
send only payment forms to CIO again by post

any suggestion. Cry

I suggest you not to wait for any thing Just get proof of wrong attempts(so-called), original one.
Get draft of required fees.
Explain the problem on cover letter & request to use the alternative payment method(draft). On the the envelop write down the reference of your application i.e your name, fathers name, date of birth, NOC code, date applied (also on the cover letter).

Highlight the problem as SUBJECT both on letter of explanation and envelop.

And send as soon as possible

I hope this works.

so just believe that u got the PR in $1100 and not $550. Smiley .. See most important is to get the PR. Even if they take the DD and charge ur CC. U can take up the case with CIC later. But get going on the DD. Get ur PR and treat us

very funny ,if it is $550 then no problem with 1100 but I paid for three which is around 1250
Undecided I have checked with bank manager of my bank just now he has printed the complete
authorization information and it is clearly written in that paper that

rejected / invalid cvv2 / invalid cvc2 /4dbc

and I have already send cvv no to them ,I call to call centre also they said they don't have any
information because CIO did not put any information in computer they are charging cc first
i think.

any other advice for me to follow up

Giving CVV with all your credit card details is very risky any person can conduct any transaction on your account.
so CIC doesnt ask your CVV code and will never ask your it as it will increase legal issues as well as chances of fraudulent activity at their end.
Normally banks are adding CIC in their safe list because of which CVV is not required - same happened with my bank. . its not anybodies fault.

try to contact them and request them to allow you to send a DRAFT.

I have sent fax to CIO, only cvv no not credit no again.
how can anyone charge, once I have send my application
to Uk and I have paid by cc and they asked me my cvv no.

and many place you dont need cvv no so once you are authorizing you card no
and date of expiry you are already giving all information to them.

Should  i fax all the information which I got from bank. before they return my application

MIS: WHat I was trying to understand is what is the next step for Rehaan.

1) U had sent  you application form with CC info.
2) CIC tried to charge, but transaction was denied due to wrong authorization code.
3) You contacted ur bank and then added CIC to safe list

Please let us know if this is correct. And also did u inform CIC about your communication with the bank?

Thanks
