If my hubby and I are interested in living on the Canadian side of the border while he commutes to work on the US side and we retain our US insurance (we can cross the border for doc appointments) what documentation do we need to fill out to rent property on the Canadian side? We have small children too, but are planning on home schooling. Thanks!

Are you American? Do either of you have any status in Canada (i.e. Canadian permanent resident status, Canadian citizenship)?

If you have no status in Canada - then unfortunately you can't just live here. You can visit as tourists, but not live.

In order to live here, you need to apply and be accepted as immigrants. More info here:

We are American citizens Smiley Thanks for the info. Some of the official sites get overwhelming and I just wanted a simple answer.
