Hello - As according to Immigration Canada, process times from application submission to First stage approval takes 11 months, what happens if your student visa/post graduate work permit expires after submission of the spousal sponsorship application, but not yet First stage approved? Thank you for the feedback.

You apply for an extension before it expires, simple.

I thought post graduate work visa's are not eligible for extensions?

They are not, you apply for an extension as a VISITOR.
