My friend went to Canada before visa's were required from his home country. Visa's became a requirement while he was there. He overstayed a couple years before he was voluntarily deported. What are the waiting requirements before he may be eligible to obtain a visitors visa?

It is very unlikely that he would be issued a visitor's visa for Canada, if he was deported.
