Hi All,

We applied outland through Pretoria- I've been approved as a sponsor (Dec, 2009), and in Feb we received a letter of provisional acceptance from Pretoria saying the interview was waived and they requested 1 additional document. We submitted the final doc (UK police clearance) on Feb 23 and since then...nothing!

I paid the RPRF a few days ago at the advice of an immigration consultant, I figure at least I'm doing something! The receipt and supporting docs have been received by Mississuaga and my partner is going to take everything in to the visa office in Pretoria to let them know tomorrow.

Just wondering if anyone with their file in Pretoria has heard anything lately? Any indication of how long this might take would be great! I'm in Canada, he's in SA, needless to say I'm a little impatient (and obsessivly checking e-cas and the mailbox!).

Please feel free to share your stories (or frustration)

Thanks

Already frustrated and only just started! Sent the application in today so the wait has begun.

We will also be applying through the pretoria office and are also waiting some pending police checks that we'll need to send in.  Were you requested to send it directly to Pretoria or to the CPC in Canada?  Trying to be proactive and get the documents to the right country so it makes things as quick as possible (have to say approved as a Sponsor in Dec and the applicant by Feb sounds VERY good! Don't want to get my hopes up but would be amazing to hear that quickly).

I have read somewhere - and maybe someone else can confirm - that when they ask for additional documents, you get 90 days to submit and they actually won't check your file again until after the 90 days are up... true?  Would be a very disappointing delay.

Would be intersted to hear when you finally heard back.

Hi Chandlermare,

We seem to be in the same boat. We applied thru Pretoria as well. They started working on the file in Dec 2009, then we received a letter on the 1st of Feb for us to submit documents. By end of March we had submitted most of the docs except for Police cheks for UK & South Africa. The police cheks have been submitted end of May to the embassy and now there has been no word. My husband has cheked with them and was told they are still doing background cheks. How long do these background checks take?

I read somewere that foreign trips we made delay the process but Uk is efficient, my police chek just took 10 days! Maybe south africa. I guess we can only wait and pray. My husband is in Canada and getting very impatient. I wish u all the best, we should be with our families soon

HI!

Just curious how you all went about paying your application fees? We got a money order from our joint bank account in Canada and submitted it with my application to CPC Mississauga. Starting to get a little worried because I keep reading things in the forums that pretty much say that I did it wrong!
